For over three decades, South Border has helped shape the sound of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), delivering timeless hits that have become part of the Filipino soundtrack to love, life, and cherished memories.  On Saturday, January 30, 2027, at 8:00 PM, Dragon Arc Events Management proudly presents a truly unique musical milestone: Jay Durias Reimagined: A Musical Tribute by South Border set to take the stage at the prestigious Newport Performing Arts Theater.

More than a concert, the event celebrates the music and creative vision of Jay Durias, the singer-songwriter, composer, and musical arranger whose artistry has been instrumental in defining South Border’s distinctive sound and enduring legacy.
Since emerging in the Philippine music scene in the early 1990s, South Border has distinguished itself through its sophisticated blend of R&B, soul, jazz, and pop. At the heart of this musical identity is Durias, whose songwriting, arrangements, and unmistakable musical sensibility helped shape the band’s signature style.

His creative contributions gave rise to enduring OPM favorites such as “Rainbow,” “Kahit Kailan,” “Ikaw Nga,” “Love of My Life,” “Wherever You Are,” “Once Again,” “May Pag-ibig Pa Kaya?,” “Habang Atin Ang Gabi” —songs celebrated for their soulful melodies, rich arrangements, and lasting emotional resonance. Through South Border, Durias has helped create a body of work that continues to connect with Filipino listeners across generations, cementing his place among OPM’s most respected musical talents.

With Jay Durias Reimagined, these beloved songs take center stage in a fresh and intimate concert experience that revisits the music through the stories, inspirations, and artistry behind it. Adding to the concert’s cross-generational appeal, the event will feature a curated lineup bridging OPM legends and today’s most influential hitmakers. Joining Jay on stage are former South Border frontman, Luke Mejares, renowned for his signature soulful vocals; powerhouse vocalist Janine Tenoso; and celebrated singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra. Additional OPM icons and special guest performers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Directed by Roy San Luis, the show promises a groundbreaking format for loyal OPM fans, built on the promise of “Timeless Songs. New Perspectives. Unforgettable Stories.” Audiences will be treated to a cinematic opening that offers a deeply personal glimpse into the creative world of Jay Durias, revealing the inspiration behind his timeless hits. This immersive visual journey will seamlessly transition into a live, newly reimagined performance by Jay alongside his South Border bandmates.
