Pinoy music took center stage as the 2nd Filipino Music Awards brought together some of the biggest names in the local industry last night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The ceremony celebrated a wide range of artists, genres, and milestones from emerging acts and genre-defining releases to major tours, landmark concerts, and lifetime contributions to Philippine music.

BINI leads the night’s biggest honors
BINI emerged as one of the night’s major award recipients, taking home both Artist of the Year and Tour of the Year for the Signals World Tour. Meanwhile, SB19 added two People’s Choice honors to their growing list of achievements, winning People’s Choice – Artist and People’s Choice – Song for “Visa.” Their Wakas at Simula was also named Concert of the Year, further recognizing the group’s impact on the Philippine live-music scene.

Adding to the night’s celebration of the country’s rising acts, KAIA took home the Star of the Night award at the 2nd Filipino Music Awards. The recognition capped a memorable evening for the girl group, whose growing presence in the Philippine music scene continues to put them among the country’s notable new-generation acts.

The People’s Choice – International Artist award went to global K-pop powerhouse BTS.

A night for Filipino songwriting
The genre categories showcased the diversity of today’s OPM landscape.

VVINK feat. DJ Love and Pio Balbuena won Pop Song of the Year for “Baduy,” while IV of Spades took Alternative Song of the Year for “Kabisado.” In hip-hop, Skusta Clee and Flow G’s “Since Day One” earned Hip-hop Song of the Year before later claiming the night’s biggest songwriting prize, Song of the Year.

The recognition adds another major milestone to the rising artist’s increasingly notable year and places Kolorcoaster among the releases that defined the current OPM landscape.

Honoring legends and industry institutions
The ceremony also made space for some of the country’s most influential figures and organizations.

Regine Velasquez-Alcasid received the Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating her enduring contribution to Filipino music.

The Tribute Award honored the late Francis Magalona, with his wife Pia Magalona and daughter Maxene Magalona accepting the recognition on his behalf.

The Music Foundation Award went to the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit, while ABS-CBN Music was named Music Company of the Year.

New voices make their mark
The ceremony also recognized the next generation of Filipino artists. Fitterkarma received the Breakthrough Artist Award, marking a significant moment for the rising act as they continue to establish their place in the local music scene.

From established legends to emerging artists, the second edition of the Filipino Music Awards reflected the breadth of OPM today, bringing together pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, folk, alternative music, live performances, albums, and the artists who continue to shape Filipino music.

A Night Filled With Performances

The 2nd Filipino Music Awards was just as much a celebration of live performances, with some of the country’s biggest artists taking the stage throughout the night.

Cornerstone artists Inigo Pascual, Zephanie, and Kyle Echarri also delivered performances, while Erik Santos and Kyla joined forces for a powerful rendition of “Pagbigyang Muli.” Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano brought his signature energy to the ceremony with “Shout for Joy” and “Hataw Na.”

Hip-hop took center stage as Flow G and Skusta Clee delivered a high-energy set featuring “Lason,” “FeedxCortez,” and their award-winning collaboration “Since Day One.”

Closing out the performances was the original lineup of Parokya ni Edgar (Chito, Vinci, Darius, Buwi, Gab, Dindin), who brought the crowd to its feet with “Inuman Na” and “Halaga.” The band then joined Elmo Magalona and Flow G for a special collaborative performance of “Bagsakan,” bringing together generations of Filipino music in one memorable finale.
