History is about to be made as the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena prepares to be the home for the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship from September 12 to 28. The Philippines proudly welcomes 32 elite international teams—including our very own Alas Pilipinas—for this landmark global sporting event.
The anticipated game

Preparations for the highly anticipated event are underway at the SM MOA Arena, with the venue undergoing intensive training sessions and significant upgrades.
With support from the Department of Tourism, over 180 venue personnel completed the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence training on August 17, equipping them to deliver world-class hospitality to local and international guests.
The venue’s official Customer Relations Service Department has also conducted numerous refresher and supplementary courses for the upcoming sports events. Some of their up-to-date training includes Basic First Aid, Crowd Control Management, Emergency response procedure, and customer service.
Apart from customer service excellence, the new venue’s centerhung—the SM Arena Cube—is also set to take on the global stage. Unveiled in May, the $2.1 million jumbotron features an active area three times larger than its predecessor, enhanced with crystal-clear resolution, split-screen functionality, and real-time data integration for an unparalleled viewing experience.
The venue is set to deliver an immersive experience during the event, upholding its dedication to deliver the best entertainment, worthy of rivaling global, massive event venues.
Sparking the celebration
Joining the global celebration of the event, the SM Group also rallied behind the volleyball fever, bringing the energy and hype of the biggest volleyball stage closer to Filipino fans in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao through the Kick-off campaign event at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall last August 13.
As part of the nationwide celebration, the trophy tour also became a sight to behold as it travelled nationwide. The trophy tour made stops at the SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Laoag, and its culmination held at the SM CDO Downtown last August 30.
More than just a host, SM plays a key role in engaging communities—giving fans a front-row experience of championship energy while showing solid support for Filipino athletes on the world stage.

Fans can secure tickets to the opening match between Alas Pilipinas and Tunisia, with opening acts by K-Pop group BOYNEXTDOOR on September 12 and a special appearance from volleyball legend Athlete Leila Barros during the competition’s final moments on September 27 and 28 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
