AIA Philippines Roar As One AT MOA Arena

The country’s leading insurance company, AIA Philippines, successfully mounted a legendary event last May 16 at Mall of Asia Arena (MOA Arena) titled “Roar As One.”

AIA Group Limited, most known as AIA, is a Hong Kong-based multinational insurance and finance corporation. It is the largest publicly listed life insurance group in Asia-Pacific. In the Philippines, the Taguig-based company with a revenue of 20.88 billion pesos in 2019.is best known to be affiliated with Medicard Philippines, BPI AIA Life, PhilAm Life, and others.

Their MOA Arena party is their way of saying thank you to everyone who supported their success from day one. Upon entering, AIA members, and employees were given loot bags containing xylobands. Also, it ain’t a party without the munchies. So, they provided some food and drinks for everyone who attended the event.

Legends were summoned to one venue to bring in a night of art, music, and hear AIA holler their loudest ROAR. The concert featured world-class talents from renowned artists such as El Gamma Penumbra, Parokya Ni Edgar, Zack Tabudlo, December Avenue, Gary Valenciano, The Diegos, and Ely Buendia.

The stage is quite noticeable upon entering MOA Arena since it had a prominent triangular LED niched mostly for the brand AIA.

While lighting and stage treatment can go along with international concerts, it also proved that it is a unique bash. The attendees were also included in the production since they wore xylobands that simultaneously blinks depending on the songs being played.

The event started with America’s Got Talent’s first-season heroes from Tanaun, Batangas— El Gamma Penumbra. An exquisite display of affection was expressed via shadow play. The performance lit the darkness in the place, slowly igniting the excited crowd on things that were in store for them.

Pasay City’s “big eye” widely opened brightly with December Avenue. The mellow dramatic tunes of the band with the most streamed album of all time jumpstarted a sea of people. They did play radio favorites like “Sa Ngalan Ng Pag-ibig,” “Huling Sandali” and “Kung ‘Di Rin Lang Ikaw.”

Zack Tabudlo, on the other hand, smoothly brings in the blues with sexy guitar licks and funky beats. Of course, the girls went gaga especially when he mentions that he’s on the lookout for someone to be with. Frets were on fire, and strings got bent with hot tracks namely “Binibini,” “Asan Ka Na Ba,” “Habang Buhay,” and “Yakap.”

It’s no surprise how a band like Parokya Ni Edgar can automatically make thousands of people stand upon hitting the stage. Chito Miranda then entered and asked people in the patron to move closer, for it to be more intimate. The band had a long set jamming to the songs “Buloy,” “Inuman Na,” “Para Sa’yo,” “Harana,” and “Your Song.”

Fans near the stage also had the opportunity to have selfies with the PNE’s frontman, quipping “Picture lang, may trauma na ako sa video.”Chito also invited two lucky fans to sing on stage. They also proxied Francis M. and Gloc-9 for a night rapping the song “Bagsakan.”

When the toms and the snare are placed in front, there will definitely be a “Hataw” coming right up. Gary Velenciano pumps up the crowd that wears red. The arena instantly turned into a dance as he notably sang hits such as “Di Bale Na Lang Kaya,” “Sa Yaweh Ang Sayaw,” “Reaching out,” “Eto na naman,” and “Take Me Out of The Dark.”

According to Mr. Pure Energy, Gary V., medical assurance is quintessential. For someone who gets ill—and gets a confinement visit to the hospital once in a while—he mentioned that something like what AIA offers is needed. After the intimate talk, he invited Chito Miranda onto the stage to play their collab song with AIA—“It’s Real Love.”

Then comes the caveat. As the finale of the show, Ely Buendia and his band started their set with the song “Alapaap.” People in the venue witnessed the legend on stage singing the most famous OPM track of all time—Ligaya. As the show ends, Ely did close it down with the Eraserheads’ anthem “Ang Huling El Bimbo.”

“Roar As One” is made possible by AIA Philippines, and its subsidiaries.

NIKI announces NICOLE World Tour 2023, includes MOA Arena show on Sept. 13

Today, Jakarta-born, LA-based singer-songwriter, and producer NIKI announces her upcoming “Nicole World Tour” this summer and fall. To coincide with this announcement, NIKI also unveils the music video for fan favorite track “Backburner” and releases her new live album Live at the Wiltern, out now via 88rising.

Following her sold-out North American headlining tour last fall, NIKI is bringing her live show to cities across the globe with her 2023 world tour which will span across North America, Asia, and Europe. The run also includes performances at festivals including Head in the Clouds NYC, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands. Tickets will be on sale to the public on Thursday, May 18th at 10AM local time, following local presales on May 16th and 17th. The full list of dates is below; please visit https://nikizefanya.com/ for more information.

Directed by Isaac Ravishankara, the new music video for NIKI’s fan favorite track “Backburner” is deliberate and intimate. NIKI takes viewers into her world as she watches old footage recorded on her camcorder and re-lives fond memories of a past relationship. Watch the “Backburner” music video HERE.

NIKI’s first ever live album Live at the Wiltern features live recordings performed at the final show of NIKI’s sold-out headlining tour at the Los Angeles venue last October. The live album includes performances of tracks from her sophomore album Nicole as well as previous standout songs including “Lowkey,” “Every Summertime,” and more.

Last summer, NIKI released her sophomore album Nicole, a project that sees her where she shines, returning to her singer-songwriter roots in a carefully crafted coming-of-age juncture that sees present-day NIKI meet with her teenage self. The album was released to critical acclaim by the likes of NPR, Billboard, Vanity Fair, and V Magazine, who hailed Nicole as “NIKI’s piece-de-resistance that kicks off an exceptional new chapter for the burgeoning songstress.”

Following the release of Nicole, NIKI also made her acting debut in her short film But I’m Letting Go. The film is a moving retelling of her first love story and heartbreak and expands upon the story previously seen in the music videos for her songs “High School in Jakarta,” “Oceans & Engines,” and “Before,” allowing viewers to gain an even deeper insight into NIKI’s personal story during her teenage years in Jakarta.

NIKI has had an impressive career thus far, amassing over 2.1 billion streams worldwide and opening for Taylor Swift on tour when she was just 15. In addition to performing at Coachella and embarking on her headlining North American tour last fall, she has also performed at 88rising’s Head in the Clouds Festival in Los Angeles, Manila, and Jakarta, and is set to perform at Head in the Clouds in New York City later this month.

Happy Birthday,” Matty says, “Couple requests, She’s American request,” Healy gains delighted feedback from the audience upon reading. Matty stops and reads a sign held up, entailing “Surprise song request, pick one.” Matty chooses B first, which is revealed to be “Nana”, followed by C, “Frail State of Mind”.

“Okay, Let us ruminate, Nana and Frail state of mind, that’s two very deep cuts,” Healy announces. “What’s A just by any chance? I’m kind interested in what you wrote.” And to both his and the fan’s amusement, “The City” would be behind it. It is also during this segment Healy states, “I mean, the thing is with Manila, You guys kind of have dibs on the 1975 because you were the first ones to like us. We were bigger in Manila before we were big in the UK.”, which led to the ecstatic cheers and clamor from fans in the crowd. The band also performed “She’s American”, much to their fans’ pleasant surprise that night.

Ending the show with the band’s indie-rock, post-punk song, “Give yourself a try”, with its distinct and remarkable guitar riffs, The 1975 wraps up their Day 2 Concert in the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Through the blaring sounds and theatrical fog, “Atpoiam” was flashed on the screen, standing for “A theatrical performance of an intimate moment”, as the members make their noteable exit, marking the conclusion of the show.

This show is presented by PULP Live World, for the two long-awaited and sold-out shows wouldn’t have been possible without them.
