Some movies are worth rewatching over and over. But if it’s as good as Disney’s “Frozen,” why not take it to the next level and see the film with live vocals and a full orchestra?
Film Concerts PH elevated the movie experience of Disney fans with “Frozen In Concert,” featuring captivating performances from the Filharmonika Orchestra, conducted by Mhaze Danniel Lim, along with live renditions from theater artists Gab Pangilinan, Joreen Bautista, Laurence Mossman and Reb Atadero.
Despite the mostly rainy weather on Nov. 16 and 17, the cold never bothered Frozen fans of all ages as they filled the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati to see the much-anticipated film concert. Kids did not conceal their excitement and even came in cute Elsa and Anna costumes as they prepared to see their Frozen favorites — most likely for the nth time.
Showing off their sensational and powerful vocals, Gab took on the lead role of beloved snow queen Elsa, while Joreen filled the shoes of energetic and optimistic Anna. Laurence brought to life everyone’s favorite goofy and cheerful snowman Olaf, and Reb played the devious Prince Hans of the Southern Isles.
Arendelle was transported to Manila as the Filharmonika Orchestra seamlessly incorporated their enchanting live music into every scene in the 2013 musical fantasy film. Filharmonika’s flawless symphonies perfectly captured the roller coaster of emotions from Anna and Elsa’s epic snowy journey.

As if the live orchestra’s addition to the film was not exhilarating enough, Joreen impressed the audience with her impeccable rendition of “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” Reb also joined Joreen for the perky duet of “Love Is An Open Door.”
One of the most anticipated performances of the evening was Gab’s version of smash hit “Let It Go,” and her moving rendition of the chart-topping, Grammy-winning song was definitely a highlight of the show.
Gab also joined Joreen for a breathtaking performance of “For The First Time In Forever,” originally sung by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel. Meanwhile, Laurence had the spotlight with his fun version of Olaf’s hilarious solo “In Summer.”
The impressive two-hour show let Disney fans relive Anna and Kristoff’s fearless mission to save Arendelle from Elsa’s perpetual winter, and the live accompaniment further heightened the suspense and excitement of the audience.
To conclude the magical night, Gab, Joreen, Laurence and Reb, along with the Filharmonika Orchestra, did a dazzling performance of the pop version of “Let It Go,” originally sung by Demi Lovato. The evening ended with a much-deserved eruption of applause and cheers from the audience, and “Frozen In Concert” surely left the mini Elsa’s and Anna’s longing to build a snowman this Christmas season.
