Last May 30, 2023 marked Laufey’s first show in Manila and it was definitely a hit! Tickets were immediately sold out just hours after the tickets went for sale on April 14, 2023.
Filinvest Tent Alabang immediately got filled with Laufey’s fans as soon as the gates opened. The crowd went wild as soon as the singer stepped on stage. She started her set with “Fragile”, a song from her album “Everything I Know About Love.”
Laufey sang “Valentine” after and had the audiences swooning over her vocals. The crowd sang along and filled the venue with their voices.
Artist Laufey sang “James” next and followed it with “Dear Soulmate.” She even addressed her Filipino fans as her soulmates! She sang “I Wish You Love” next before asking her twin sister Junia Lin to take a photo of her on stage with the crowd as her background. The mention of Junia alone made the crowd go wild as she’s also loved by the fans.
Laufey sat in front of the grand piano on stage and sang “Let You Break My Heart Again.” This song is one of the crowd favorites. Along with “Valentine”, “Let You Break My Heart Again” is one of the songs by Laufey that went viral and got so much attention online.
She sang “Misty” next, an unreleased song. Laufey sang a snippet of it and quickly cut the song short to tease the crowd. Next song was “Like The Movies.” This was the last song she played on the grand piano.
Laufey sang “Falling Behind” next. She explained that this song is about feeling left behind as everyone around her is in love but her. “Street by Street” came next and she explained that this is a song she wrote to reclaim the city she once used to avoid because of a heartbreak.
She sang “Beautiful Stranger” next and followed it with “Best Friend.” A song she wrote about her best friend, also known as her twin sister.
Laufey sang another unreleased song entitled “Bewitched” before performing her latest release “From The Start” for the very first time. This got the Filipino fans feeling special as this was her first live performance of said song ever.
She bid her farewell after “From The Start” and this got the crowd shouting for more. Laufey returned on stage for two encore performances. She sang one more unreleased song entitled “Promise.” A very heartfelt song about still wanting to go back to a past lover.
The last song she sang was “Magnolia.” She said that this song brought the Laufey community together and that she didn’t expect that this song is what would make the fans together as one.
Laufey also labeled her Manila show to be one of her biggest concerts yet.
This show would not be made possible if not for the countless fans and the very dedicated teams involved just to make this show happen.
