For an artist who has spent a decade and a half under the spotlight, a 15th anniversary concert serves not only as a career retrospective but also as a deeply personal look at the woman behind the music. For Angeline Quinto, the journey to her Aquinse concert at the Araneta Coliseum is paved with stories of resilience, the relentless juggling act of motherhood, and a sacred promise made to the woman who shaped her.

The Heart Behind AQUINSE
When we asked how AQUINSE differs from her previous major concerts, Quinto is quick to point out the emotional weight it carries. “It’s very personal to me,” she explains. Over the past 15 years, there have been countless stories created and songs that have taken on profound meaning.

Her goal for the Araneta stage isn’t just to perform, but to share her life’s narrative. From songs that will make the audience cry, to those that will make them fall in love or feel inspired, the setlist was meticulously crafted with her management and creative teams. “I want to share this with the many people who have supported me until now,” Quinto says. “I want them to feel more, and I want to give them inspiration when they leave the Coliseum.”

She hints at a specific, deeply nostalgic song in the setlist, one that her supporters haven’t heard since August 2022, knowing it will instantly transport them back to the emotions they felt the first time they heard it.

The Balancing Act
Behind the glamour of the stage is the demanding reality of being a mother of two (Sylvio and Sylvia), a wife, and a working artist. Managing her time, she admits, is no easy feat.
“I really need to manage my time and prepare for every single day,” Quinto shares, noting the difficulties of out-of-town or international shows that require her to be away for weeks. Yet, she approaches it with a mother’s unyielding determination. Whenever she isn’t working, she insists on being the one to take her kids to school and be present for every family milestone.

“When you are a mother, there is nothing you won’t be able to handle for your family,” she says.

A Promise to Mama Bob
Perhaps the most poignant milestone in Quinto’s recent life isn’t on a stage, but in a classroom. In 2026, she finally achieved a dream that was five years in the making and a lifetime in the hoping.

The journey began in 2020 during the pandemic and the ABS-CBN shutdown. It was then that her adoptive mother, the late Mama Bob, urged her to finish her studies and start a family so she wouldn’t be alone. After Mama Bob passed away, Quinto promised herself she would fulfill those wishes.

Having left her formal education during her fourth year of high school to compete in Star Power, Quinto had to start from scratch as a college freshman. “I was supposed to finish in four years,” she recalls. “But during those five years, I got pregnant twice.”

Juggling her second pregnancy in 2024 with filming a television series (What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim), she struggled to submit requirements and report to school on time, delaying her graduation by a year. But her perseverance paid off. Early this year, the girl who left high school for a singing dream graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management, from Immaculate Conception College.

“It was so difficult, but I survived it,” she says proudly. “It is the most beautiful gift I have ever given myself.”

The Secret to Longevity: Authenticity and Humility
When playfully asked about the “secret” to her success, Quinto points to authenticity. For her, being a singer isn’t just about vocal acrobatics; it’s about making the audience understand the soul of a song. “When you are true to your singing, your audience will feel it,” she explains.

This authenticity extends to her professional relationships. She speaks highly of her “forever singing partner,” Erik Santos. Despite him being a senior in the industry when she started, they developed a genuine friendship where favors are done out of love, not for talent fees. “In this industry, it’s not enough to just be talented,” Quinto notes. “You need to know how to love and get along with the people you work with.”

As she looks back on her 15-year career, her guiding principles remain remarkably grounded. She attributes her endurance to a constant, unprompted gratitude to God, a deep love for her work regardless of the venue size, and the lasting wisdom of Mama Bob.

“Wherever you reach, whatever your job is, wherever destiny takes you,” Quinto reflects, echoing her mother’s words, “always keep your feet firmly on the ground.”
