Great concerts don’t simply happen when the curtain rises—they are carefully built through months of creative collaboration, meticulous planning, and countless decisions made long before the first artist steps on stage.
That process was on full display at Puregold OPM Con Generations 2026, where thousands of fans gathered at Araneta Coliseum to celebrate the enduring legacy of Original Pilipino Music. While audiences witnessed seamless performances and spectacular production numbers, the real story began behind the scenes.
At the helm of the show’s creative execution was Arnold Sanchez, who served as Show Director, overseeing the overall creative direction, stage storytelling, technical integration, and live execution of one of Puregold’s biggest music events to date.
For Sanchez, every creative decision started with one question: How can the concert make audiences feel connected—not only to the artists, but also to the story of OPM itself?
“Every concert tells a story,” Sanchez explains. “Our job is to make sure every performance, transition, visual, and technical cue contributes to that story. When everything works together, the audience doesn’t just watch a concert—they become part of the experience.”
The production’s creative foundation was made possible through a close partnership with the Puregold team. According to Sanchez, having a client with a clear vision allowed the creative process to move with confidence.
“Ms. Ivy Piedad already had a strong creative direction from the beginning. Because we shared the same vision, our team was able to focus on enhancing that concept and transforming it into a live experience. That level of trust allowed creativity and collaboration to flourish.”
The result was a production that balanced scale with purpose—allowing every artist to have their own moment while maintaining a cohesive narrative from opening number to finale.
Sanchez brings years of experience to productions of this magnitude. As the resident Show Director of Wish 107.5, he has led the creative direction of the Wish Music Awards, the Wishdate Concert Series, concerts featuring Rico Blanco and The Juans, and the Aurora Music Festival. Across every project, he has developed a reputation for combining technical precision with storytelling that keeps audiences engaged from beginning to end.
Yet for Sanchez, the success of any concert is never measured by one person’s contribution.
“People naturally remember the performances they see on stage, but every successful concert is made possible by hundreds of individuals working together behind it. The production crew, technical teams, artists, suppliers, organizers, and every partner all play an equally important role.”
Following the successful staging of Puregold OPM Con Generations 2026, Sanchez expressed his appreciation for the trust extended to him throughout the project.
“It is a privilege to work with an organization that continues to champion Filipino artists and celebrate OPM on such a grand scale.
I am deeply grateful to Mr. Vincent Co, President of Puregold Price Club, Inc., for his unwavering support of Original Pilipino Music and for providing a platform where artists can come together to celebrate OPM with their fans.
My sincere appreciation also goes to Ms. Ivy Piedad, Senior Marketing Manager of Puregold Price Club, Inc., whose clear creative vision and direction became the foundation of this production. To Ms. Thess Ordonez-Cuisia, President of Cozoz, Inc., thank you for your guidance and for entrusting our entire production team with the responsibility of bringing this vision to life. And to Ms. Katherine Jusayan, Project Director of Cozoz, Inc., thank you for your meticulous oversight, steady leadership, and collaborative spirit, which made even the most demanding moments feel lighter and more enjoyable.
To the entire Puregold and Cozoz family, thank you for believing in our team and for giving us the opportunity to help turn this vision into a memorable experience. It was an honor to contribute to a production that celebrates the richness of Filipino music and the artists who continue to shape it.”
He also acknowledged the mentors who have significantly influenced his career, crediting Kuya Daniel Razon, CEO of Wish 107.5, and General Manager Jay Eusebio for shaping the values that continue to guide his work.
“The opportunities, guidance, and discipline I’ve received from Kuya Daniel Razon and General Manager Jay Eusebio have helped define the kind of leader and creative professional I strive to be. Those lessons continue to influence every production I direct.”
As the final applause echoed through the venue, Puregold OPM Con Generations 2026 became more than another successful concert. It stood as a reminder that extraordinary live experiences are built on shared vision, trust, and the dedication of people who often remain unseen.
For Arnold Sanchez, that has always been the true reward of live production—not standing in the spotlight, but helping create unforgettable moments for everyone who does.
And above all, he says, every success is ultimately an offering of gratitude.
“To God be all the glory.”
