OPM singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is officially making his return to the concert scene just in time for Father’s Day. His highly anticipated two-night concert, titled “Daddyokie,” is set to take place at the Proscenium Theater on June 19 and 20, 2026. Designed as a special tribute to all fathers, the show promises a nostalgic trip down memory lane, featuring a curated selection of hits from Alcasid’s own high school years. Daddies and music lovers alike will get the chance to unwind and jam along to the iconic sounds of the ’80s and ’90s, with a repertoire that includes classics from Earth, Wind & Fire, Hall & Oates, Duran Duran, and the APO Hiking Society.

The concept for “Daddyokie” was born out of Alcasid’s successful Ogieokie concert series. The veteran artist noted that his audiences genuinely love to laugh, sing along, and actively interact throughout the night. Aiming to deliver a massive party atmosphere, Alcasid wants to give concertgoers a memorable experience fueled by a vibrant repertoire and pure good vibes. Beyond the nostalgic international and local throwbacks, fans can also look forward to Alcasid performing his timeless signature hits, including “Ikaw Sana,” “Kailangan Kita,” “Mahal Kita Walang Iba,” and “Nandito Ako.”

A Heartfelt Tribute to His Late Father
The upcoming concert holds deep personal significance for Alcasid, who fondly remembered his late father who passed away from COVID-19 in 2020. Recalling those incredibly difficult times, the singer shared the heartbreak of only being able to view his father through a small door window due to strict hospital quarantine protocols. Despite the painful reality of not being able to talk to or closely comfort him in his final moments, Alcasid remains profoundly grateful for everything his father did for him, remembering him as his ultimate pillar of support.

Alcasid warmly reminisced about his early days in the industry, revealing that it was his father who truly pushed him to pursue singing. He vividly recalled a moment from his youth when Yamaha held a sale; his father eagerly encouraged him to tag along and bought him his very first piano and microphones. Throughout his career, his father remained a quiet but fiercely loyal supporter of his musical journey.

The Joys and Challenges of Fatherhood
Now a father himself, Alcasid opened up about the inherent complexities of parenting, admitting that trying to be the best dad to his children is an ongoing challenge. He candidly shared that no parent is perfect, noting the daily struggle of balancing discipline with the right emotional approach. He tailors his parenting style to each of his children’s unique stages in life: maintaining a strict eye on academic grades for his youngest, Nate; teaching his daughter Sarah the ropes of budgeting and adulting; and offering meaningful marriage advice to his eldest, Leila.

”We aren’t perfect. We can be strict, so it really comes down to how we approach them every single day,” Alcasid reflected, emphasizing that balancing these dynamics is what makes fatherhood beautifully complex.
