Multitalented actress, singer, and YouTube sensation Jada Facer has arrived in Manila to promote her latest single, “Toothpaste,” and her highly anticipated upcoming album, Party Dress.

For Jada, music has been a lifelong companion; she fondly recalls dancing to Shirley Temple at the age of four and remarkably producing her own album using GarageBand by the time she was eight. Heavily influenced by the artistry of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, Jada credits attending Sheeran’s live performances as a pivotal source of inspiration that fueled her own songwriting journey.

Before her music career took center stage, Jada was widely recognized for her role as Dani Mancini—Joey’s long-lost daughter—on the third season of the hit comedy sitcom Melissa & Joey. She views acting and music as deeply intertwined disciplines, noting that she often used songwriting as a tool to explore her characters’ motivations. When auditioning for television or film roles in her youth, she would frequently write a unique theme song for each character to better inhabit their world. She looks back on her time on Melissa & Joey as a cherished experience, particularly highlighting a special episode dedicated to her singing that made her feel truly celebrated as an artist.

Her forthcoming EP, Party Dress, explores the complexities of modern romance and recovery.

The title track tells the story of dressing up to mask the pain of heartbreak, prompted by friends encouraging a night out. Much of the project was inspired by a brief but impactful relationship Jada experienced last year, which offered a stark contrast to her previous 15-year long-term relationship. This emotional range is further highlighted in her new collaboration with Jonah Baker, “Toothpaste,” set for release on April 24. As the only love song on the EP, “Toothpaste” celebrates the “forever” kind of love found in mundane, intimate moments—like ordering takeout or brushing your teeth together.

Throughout her transition into a full-time recording artist, Jada has cultivated a dedicated and supportive community on YouTube. She expresses immense gratitude for her fanbase, feeling lucky that so many people resonate with both her viral covers and her original compositions. Fans can look forward to a steady stream of new cover performances leading up to the EP’s official release this June. Even as she prepares for this launch, Jada is already looking toward the future, actively developing new original material and conceptualizing her next musical chapter.
