Singer-songwriter Waltz is back with a hauntingly beautiful new single, “Cold Soup” and it’s set to tug at heartstrings with its raw emotion and introspective storytelling.

This new song certifies Waltz’s unique artistry, diving into the silent ache of love that lingers in familiarity rather than passion.

“Cold Soup” captures the moment when love no longer screams but whispers as it slowly and quietly vanishes. In a statement, Waltz shared, “‘Cold Soup’ came from that space where love doesn’t hurt loud anymore. It just gets quiet. Yung tipong pagod ka na, pero andun ka pa rin kasi sanay ka na sa sakit.” He describes the song as a reflection of “love na paulit-ulit, hindi mo na alam kung totoo pa ba o comfort zone na lang.”
Unlike his earlier hits like “Paano” or “100 Dahilan”, “Cold Soup” leans into acceptance. “Ito ‘yung hindi na nagtatanong kung bakit, kundi tanggap na lang. Waltz explains.

The result is a slow, sad love song that’s both deeply vulnerable and achingly relatable, carried by his signature smooth vocals.
Moreover, Waltz penned “Cold Soup” while in Thailand, without a single instrument in hand. “The melody and lyrics just came to me sobrang bilis, as in naririnig ko na siya sa isip ko habang sinusulat ko. Parang binulong lang sakin ng universe yung kanta,” he recalls. This raw creative process infuses the track with an organic, unfiltered quality and relatable lyrics that resonates with listeners.

Truly a love gone cold. Like a cold soup. Waltz invites OPM fans to sit with the stillness of faded love, offering a melody that feels like a warm yet bittersweet embrace.
