PolyEast Records’ pop artist, JAO, takes on a new direction with his upcoming single release of “IKAW LANG PO” on September 26, 2025.
JAO has built a good number of following through his debut EP, “KABANATA,” containing his most popular song, “TORPE” that’s currently gained more than 7 million streams on Spotify. His lyrics circled on the highs and lows of love, and the groovy sound attracted people to him and his music; setting a standard.
His willingness to surrender to art whenever he makes his music is what bridges him to his listeners. However, wanting to move forward, JAO decided to turn things around and try out a new theme.
Although his upbeat, pop sound remains to be a prominent sound in his songs which perfectly captures the feeling he wants his listeners to feel when hearing the stories of his songs, lyrically, he considers “IKAW LANG PO” as a sequel to “KABANATA” as it opens a new perspective towards love. His previously released tracks lacked the light of being in love, in which “IKAW LANG PO” is here to fill in.
Encouraged by his dad to write happy love songs, he decided to pursue this path. “IKAW LANG PO” reminisces on bits of JAO’s parents’ love story. A story of intentionally choosing the same person over and over, and allowing yourself to love.
As an artist, he’s very meticulous when it comes to writing and producing his music, however, having his parents as his inspiration for this new track, and receiving help from his team made the whole process easier and more fun.
“Tinulungan nila akong mas palawakin pa ‘yung mind ko for the song.” JAO openly shares.
To progress, change is inevitable; a constant risk that people face. JAO says that he’s really glad that his past efforts in building his branding for his releases paid off. Now he’s excited to work on this new phase in his musical journey, and says that he’s here to enjoy the process.
JAO believes that whenever we encounter unexpected events in life, we should embrace it— a message he wants to tell his listeners through this new release.
