Australian singer-songwriter Ruel returns to Manila for a special mall show happening at the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig City this Saturday, February 18, 2023.
The free event is part of a campaign to promote his highly anticipated debut album, 4TH WALL, which is slated for a March 3, 2023 release via RCA Records/Sony Music Entertainment. Ruel’s long-awaited debut album explores his most personal and stellar musical offerings to date. In an announcement posted on social media last week, the 20-year-old hitmaker expressed his excitement about visiting the country for the second time since performing here in 2019.
He shares, “Manila! I’m so excited to play a FREE show next week! I’ve created a Manila channel in my discord so we can all talk ahead of the show.”
Ruel’s current single “MUST BE NICE” is currently making waves in the Philippines, thanks to its emotive pop sensibilities and relatable lyrics. Written and produced with longtime collaborator M-Phazes (Khalid, Noah Cyrus), along with the TMS Production Team (Lewis Capaldi, Dua Lipa) and songwriter Sean Douglas (Lizzo, Thomas Rhett), the piano-driven ballad showcases Ruel’s stunning voice, which glides effortlessly from gritty tenor to airy falsetto.
The talented artist has also released two well-received singles so far, “SOMEONE ELSE’S PROBLEM” and “YOU AGAINST YOURSELF.” Ruel: Live at Venice Grand Canal Mall is presented by Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Venice Grand Canal Mall, with MYX as the Official Media Partner.

Eastwood City, Quezon City – Eight new stars honoring the best and brightest of the Philippine entertainment industy are set to be unveiled at the 17th edition of the Eastwood City Walk of Fame.
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, one of the brightest evenings in local showbiz makes its much-awaited comeback with eight personalities coming from the fields of film, television, music, theater, news and public affairs, sports, radio and social media receiving the coveted recognition.
Leading this year’s star-studded recipients of the five-point brass star from the German Moreno Foundation at the Hollywood-inspired Walk of Fame in Eastwood Citywalk are multi-awarded TV actress Maja Salvador, 2020 Tokyo Olympics weightlifting gold medal winner Hidilyn Diaz and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Ricky Lee.
Also receiving their stars are veteran entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual for news and public affairs, singer Janet Basco for music, broadcast journalist Gerry Baja for radio, and internet sensations Ranz Kyle and Nianna Guerrero for social media.
A posthumous award is also being handed over to the relatives of the late National Artist for Theater Tony Mabesa in recognition of his contributions to the country’s theater scene.
A brainchild of the late ‘Master Showman’ German ‘Kuya Germs’ Moreno, Walk of Fame Philippines started in 2005 with the main goal of honoring those who did not only excel in their profession and field of work, but also helped inspire generations of actors, directors, TV and radio personalities, musicians, athletes and journalists.
Since its creation, 344 celebrities and personalities have been awarded with their own stars at the Walk of Fame, which has also become an iconic attraction unique only to Eastwood City and remains as one of the most coveted and prestigious recognitions in the entertainment industry.
Aside from honoring the best and the brightest in Philippine entertainment, Eastwood City Walk of Fame was founded to support Mowelfund or the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation, an organization that provides for the welfare of the workers in the film industry.
Eastwood City Walk of Fame’s 17th Anniversary will take place at the Eastwood Central Plaza on January 16, 6PM. For more information, please contact the Megaworld Lifestyle Malls Concierge at 709-9888, 709-0888 or 0917-8380111 or visit http://www.megaworld-lifestylemalls.com.

When Island Records Philippines launched in 2020, the world was on lockdown. However, amidst these challenging circumstances, this label began a revolution in local music, offering a space for creativity and an opportunity to share that creative work with a wider audience. As the world slowly opens up, Island welcomes everyone to its second anniversary and first major in-person event, the Nomad Music Festival. Happening on Sunday, July 24, it begins at 2 PM at the Venice Piazza in Taguig City.
The name of the festival, says Island Records Philippines’ Head and A&R, Bel Certeza, reflects the spirit behind it. “The core meaning of the word [nomad] is a combination of journey and searching, which perfectly describes the heart of our music festival…it’s a music experience and discovery platform.” She adds that part of the festival’s purpose is to introduce new artists who will become part of Island’s roster and to invite lesser-known bands to showcase their music in future legs. In other words, July 24th is just the beginning.
The Nomad Music Festival will be the first opportunity for music fans to see all these artists perform live in one stage:

Island Records Philippines aims to stage future legs every year and take the event to different parts of the country. Certeza also added that they may invite regional and international artists to be part of the future legs of the festival.
The story of Island Records Philippines are the stories of many creative voices who bring who they are into the work they do. With the Nomad Music Festival, music lovers will hear these voices gathered together on one stage, continuing Island’s journey into a hopeful future for local music.
Nomad: An Island Records Philippines Music Festival is in partnership with UMusic PH, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, and the Venice Grand Canal Mall.
