Concert Round-up: Successful K-Pop Masterz with Treasure, Bambam, Jackson Wang at MOA Arena

On the evening of Friday, July 29, 2022, Korean stars Treasure, BamBam, and Jackson Wang all gathered together for 2022’s KPOP MASTERZ in Manila. After a climactic countdown, the first act of the night, Treasure— entered with a striking performance of ‘Jikjin’, followed with a selection of their songs such as ‘I LOVE YOU’, ‘MY TREASURE’, and ‘MMM.’ Shortly after, the fetching host of the evening, Kring Kim—with her vibrant pink hair and lively aura entertained the crowd with a few games.

Kicking off with treasure match wherein the members split into two groups competing against each other. It was team ‘mahal kita’ v.s ‘team gwapo’, engaging in battles of “bato-bato pik” and “Ddakji”, the notorious Korean game popularized by Squid Game. Treasure then wrapped up their segment with ‘BOY’ and a remixed performance of their viral hit song ‘DARARI’.

Up next was Bambam, opening with ‘wheels up’, and unexpectedly surprising the audience with a heartfelt performance of ‘Ngiti’ by Ronnie Lang – as per an old vow from one of his past shows in Manila a few years back.

Bambam, of course, kept to his promise and sang the song for his fans. During BB’s Yes or No segment, he proudly showcased his ability to say ‘i love you’ in six different languages, told his fans that he wanted to build a night market and name it #BamBamShotPuno, and even expressed that bangus is the best fish he tried, thus making #Bamngus trending on twitter. The highlight of the night, however, was when Bambam invited Sandara Park onstage for a special performance of 2NE1’s ‘I Don’t Care’. Bambam then encouraged his fans to do Got7’s fanchant as he ended his segment with a performance of ‘riBBon’ with Sandara.

Jackson Wang, the final act of the night, opened with ‘Cruel’ and swarmed the stage with dusky yet enticing themes. He also performed ‘Blow’ and new songs from his upcoming ‘MAGICMAN’ album. Jackson acknowledged and praised how genuine and passionate the crowd’s cheers were, even going as far as to say that he could feel that his fans truly meant it. The Got7 member ended the night with a charismatic finale of ‘100 ways’.

Everything that had transpired wouldn’t have been possible without Inang Reyna of Kpop Happee, Sir Vernon, and everybody at Pulp Live World. We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to them for giving teume’s and aghase’s the novelty to see their idols and witness their performances live, and for making their dreams come true for the night.

The 80-minute ensemble performance was the first time in Coachella’s history that a record label has been given an official performance slot to showcase artists.

Jackson Wang returns with new single, “Blow”

Jackson Wang returns with a new single and video for “Blow,” out now via TEAM WANG Records/88rising Records/Warner Records. The highly-anticipated “Blow” unveils an explosive new sonic direction – blending punchy guitar riffs with anthemic pop – and heralds Jackson’s artistic evolution.

“Blow” is accompanied by a music video directed by longtime collaborator Daniel Cloud Campos (Jackson Wang’s “100 Ways”, Panic! At The Disco, Zedd) which perfectly complements the song’s fiery energy. Brimming with theatrical suspense, choreography, and fashion, the video highlights his masterful showmanship and introduces fans to the first look at Jackson’s Magic Man persona (which inspired the creation and direction of his forthcoming album of the same name).

“Blow” is Jackson’s first English single release of 2022 and hints at what’s to come from the rest of the year. It follows the successful release of 2021’s “Drive You Home” and “LMLY”, which have garnered over 40 million and 90 million streams respectively. Both singles charted on the Mediabase U.S. Pop Top 40 chart. In the Fall of 2019, Jackson released his critically acclaimed debut solo album, MIRRORS, which debuted at #32 on the Billboard 200. With MIRRORS, Jackson became the highest-charting solo artist debut from China.

In addition to being a singer and producer, Jackson is also a fashion designer, creative director, founder of TEAM WANG, and member of the hugely successful K-Pop group, Got7. Jackson has collaborated with multiple global brands including Fendi, Cartier, Armani Beauty, Rayban, L’Oreal, Pepsi, and BMW. In his ascent, Jackson has amassed over 50 million followers across socials.

Jackson Wang releases teaser for his forthcoming single “Drive You Home”

Chinese triple threat Jackson Wang is a singer, dancer, and fashion mogul dominating the global pop consciousness. His forthcoming single “Drive You Home”, released in collaboration with chart-topping producer collective Internet Money, follows the release of Jackson’s “LMLY”, which has been streamed over 60M streams since its release in March, reached #27 at US Top 40 radio, and marked Jackson’s first US late night TV performance on James Corden.

“Drive You Home” is an 80s-inspired love song blending sentimental guitar-driven melodies with booming hip-hop percussion that features Jackson Wang’s most affecting & confident vocal performance to-date. The song samples the iconic 1984 single “Drive” from the legendary new wave band The Cars, and is a collaboration with the chart-topping Internet Money producer collective – hip-hop’s go-to producers of the moment (Juice Wrld – “Lucid Dreams”, Lil Tecca – “Ransom”, Internet Money & Gunna ft. Don Toliver & Nav – “Lemonade”).

Accompanying the single is a music video that Jackson scripted, directed, and produced himself alongside Mamesjao and tells a heartbreaking story of a hard-partying night told in reverse. Both “LMLY” and “Drive You Home” will ladder up to Jackson’s forthcoming sophomore album Magic Man, due in November 2021.
