Arthur Nery croons on romantic new release “o ninanais”

Arthur Nery just dropped a new single titled “o ninanais”. Said song, which premiered on all music streaming platforms midnight Friday, February 17, is the much-awaited new song from R&B singing star.

Here, Arthur Nery veers away a bit from his usual lo-fi flavored R&B sounds and dabbles in some jazzy sounds on this piano-driven love song. Listen closely though and you’ll still hear the vocal stylings–the falsettos, the mellow bedroom mode vocals–that made Arthur Nery the biggest male solo act of his age, here in “o ninanais.”

The song is the much-awaited new single from the R&B star who spent much of 2022 performing behind his monster-hit “Pagsamo.” To date, said song has over 133 million streams on Spotify alone. Over at YouTube, the official “Pagsamo” videos have reached more than a 120 million views. Arthur’s previous single, “Isa Lang” is also a big hit with more than 87 million streams on Spotify, and its official videos reaching more than 50 million views on YouTube. 2022 also saw his first solo sold out show at the New Frontier Theatre.

Fans are hoping that “o ninanais” will be the first of a handful of new songs from Arthur Nery for 2023.

Written and arranged by Arthur Nery, the track is also co-produced by the singer with Su Ganade and frequent collaborator Axel Fernandez. New single “o ninanais” was recorded with real strings that featured violinists Lea Rodriguez, Bryan Matias, Sophia Chua and cellist Vanette Villanueva. Studio musicians include Ian Fajarito on piano, guitarist Miguel Mejia and bassist Mike Bayas.

The official visualizer video for “o ninanais” was subsequently released on YouTube by Arthur Nery’s parent label Viva Records. An official music video for the song is forthcoming.

Viva Live sets Arthur Nery’s first major concert

Simply titled “Arthur Nery”, the concert will be held on July 2, 2022 at the New Frontier Theater.

Arthur Nery cemented his hitmaker standingwith his song “Pagsamo” released in 2021. The single went on to become a massive Pinoy pop hit and even made it as the theme of the VivaMax movie “My Husband, My Lover”. To date, “Pagsamo” has over 200 million streams on Spotify, Apple Music, and on Youtube.

Arthur Nery broke into the mainstream some three years ago with his acclaimed solo album “Letters Never Sent”. The album yielded the single “Higa” that eventually became his breakout hit. Several tracks from the same album also made its mark, including “Binhi” and “Life Puzzle: but it was in 2020 that Arthur went white hot with a string of singles starting with “Happy w U” that was followed up with “Take All The Love” in 2021.

Arthur has also produced hit collaborations with other OPM artists including his duet with Janine Teñoso, fan-fave and kilig hit “Pelikula” in 2021. Recently, Arthur Nery’s latest single “Isa Lang” became a certified hit within a few weeks of its release, topping Pinoy pop songs on Spotify’s local charts.

First on the lineup is the fast-rising singer-songwriter/producer, Zack Tabudlo, who’s set to play at Market! Market! on April 23 and Ayala Malls Manila Bay on April 24. The “Binibini” hitmaker under Island Records Philippines has been touring Ayala Malls since early March to serenade audiences with his latest hits like “Asan Ka Na Ba,” “Pano,” and other favorites from his breakout album, “Episode”.

The CDO-local, who is now under Viva Records, broke into the scene in 2019 after releasing his album, “Letters Never Sent.”

Other Viva Records stars to grace the stage include Adie, the Biñan, Laguna native who quickly rose to fame with over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 67 million plays for his breakout hit, “Paraluman.” Fans can finally watch the wonderboy live at Solenad on April 23; MarQuee Mall on May 13; and Harbor Point on June 17. Meanwhile, mega-superstar Nadine Lustre will be at Market! Market! on April 24 for a one-time only concert. Playing onstage are modern rock-funk-pop, Lola Amour, and singing-songwriting girl-duo, Leanne & Naara on May 1; Boogie-fusion band, Basically Saturday Night, and rising star, Arthur Miguel, on May 8; and “Forever Alive” singer, Keiko Necesario, and indie rock/jazz fusion band, Sud, on May 14.

Finally, Happy Plays Music Festival features some of the country’s biggest names in music including the following main acts: Sandwich, 6cyclemind, Moonstar88, Imago, and Gracenote. “We thank Ayala Malls for giving artists and fans the opportunity to gather within a safe and comfortable space. Ayala Malls is the perfect venue for the comeback of face-to-face performances because of its controlled environment and convenient accessibility,” muses del Rosario.

“We want to continue creating amazing experiences for our patrons by bringing live entertainment back in our malls. This goes hand-in-hand with our goal to support Filipino music and local artists especially after all the lockdowns and quarantines we’ve been through,” says Tintin Enriquez-Yabao, Ayala Malls Consumer Marketing Head.
