“We’ve been very very good because we are in Manila!” Bang Chan, Stray Kids’ leader, enthusiastically declared during their fan meet last January 20 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. Together with his co-group, Hyunjin, Felix, Lee Know, I.N, Han, Seungmin, and Changbin, the South Korean act were all smiles and excited to be in front of the their adoring Pinoy fans.
After opening with a performance of ‘God’s Menu’, the fanmeet consisted of 8 different and unique segments wherein fans were able to interact and get to know the members even more. The first segment was called ‘I am who’, where the members must guess which member is being impersonated. This was followed by a game of jengga with a twist; that being the jengga blocks were much bigger, hence the segment being called ‘Giant Jengga No Easy Challenge’. An additional mechanic was also introduced: each block would either have the word ‘safe’ or ‘mission’ written on it. If a member gets a block with the word safe, they can simply place the block on top of the tower. If a member gets a block with the word mission, they have the option to do a mission as a team or as an individual, which added both more fun and difficulty to the game.
Next was the Domino Challenge, where the group with the most number of dominos toppled down wins, and as a reward, gets two free bench shirts. By the 4th segment, the members had to say I love you in four different ways: cute, sexy, crazy, and serious. The 5th segment was called the ‘Secret Secret Whisper Challenge’, which is basically a lip-reading game, the challenge being the noise-cancelling headphones the members must wear. In Cheese: Draw My Photocard, the 6th segment, 8 easels were placed onstage with bench shirts as their canvas. A photocard of a Stray Kids member would be attached, and the member would have 3 minutes to paint whoever is on the photocard. Eight lucky fans would have a chance to win a shirt from a random draw.
In the 7th and penultimate segment, Spot Choreography, a random part of one of their songs would be flashed on screen, and the members must perform the correct dance moves along with it. Loveline was the 8th and final segment, which was followed by a closing performance of ‘Case 143’, the perfect way to not only end and wrap up the fanmeet, but to also make Stays excited and look forward to the group’s return for their Maniac Tour on March 11 and 12, 2023.
Special thanks to Bench for making this event possible and for giving Filipino Stays a chance to see the members live!
A sea of cheers and pearl aqua light sticks filled the MOA Arena last January 28 to herald the fan meet of SHINee member, Choi Min-ho. Better known as Minho, the South Korean singer, screen actor and songwriter entertained his adoring fans for over 120 minutes with music, missions and must-know new trivia about the man of the hour.
“It’s been a while and it’s making my heart flutter”, shares the heartthrob. And the years not seeing Minho onstage was evident as his fans were very receptive to his stage antics together with local host, Sam Oh. From wearing a barong, the recreating scenes from various K-dramas, to fan ticket raffles and more, how fortunate indeed were those present at the venue to witness the evening’s ceremonies. Of which he blushes, “I’m so excited for this first fan meet in the Philippines”.
Beyond the games, Minho eagerly shared his solo tracks onstage. Mixing his palpable energy and engaging lyricism, the SHINee member talked about his tracks – namely “Heartbreak” and “Runaway” and how he is proud performing them for admirers of his music. “I’m very happy that the first fan meet outside Seoul is in the Philippines”. And with that, we can feel his warmth towards the loving Shawols present. Assuring the fandom’s request for a possible return show with his groupmates to happen again in Manila.
After the 2 hour program, we can safely say that it truly was a lucky choice for his fans to see him live.

Kim Seon-Ho was recently in Manila for his sold-out fan meet and the Korean actor did not disappoint. All smiles and exuding with charm, the leading man dubbed as “Good Boy” thrilled audiences with fun games, interactive moments and all around good time. With his signature smile he quips, “Magandang araw, na-miss ko kayong lahat.”
In true Pinoy fashion, the local fans went all out with their cheers and high energy for the actor. To which, the Korean celebrity was visibly at awe with the love he was given. “I’m happy thanks to you. I will cherish this day for the rest of my life”, he shares. From fans dressed in wedding gowns, to hanboks, to lighted personalized signs and more, the supporters of Kim Seon-Ho showed up to the party donning their personal flair.
Onstage, Kim Seon-Ho opened up with some surprising facts. He likes bibingka and adores pancit. He finds the Pinoy game sipa interesting. He even shares Tagalog phrases with ease. Indeed, his adoration for our culture is evident. He too was very generous with his interactions. Shaking hands with fans offstage, acknowledging the players who joined him for the various segments and laughing at the funny banter with host, Kring Kim.
Alas, the show must end. But not before presenting Kim Seon-Ho a touching tribute video. The emotive piece was one of the highlights of the program as it brought out the feels from the fans and Kim Seon-Ho as well. “Salamat po. I had a very good time”, he shares.
What a good show for our good boy.

Think of K-hip hop and R&B, and some of the best artists that come into mind are part of the AOMG crew. Starting the new year with a huge party, record label AOMG brought their [Follow the Movement] AOMG World Tour to Manila. Woo, Lee Hi, Loco, Gray, Yugyeom, and Simon Dominic held a four-hour concert on Jan. 15 at the New Frontier Theater, delivering a party like no other.
Rapper Woo started the show as he opened with “R.I.P.” He had fun with the crowd and smiled when the crowd chanted, “Woo! Woo! Woo!” He continued his set with “Chik Chik Pok Pok,” “Pop It,” and “Chingiz Khan.” There were a lot of memorable moments that night, but one of the songs that made an impact, in my opinion, was Woo’s “Me” from his 2022 EP “comma.” He said this song’s lyrics are honest and that he wanted the crowd to feel what this song is about. While he was singing “Me,” the lyrics flashed on the screen behind him. Even though I was in the middle of a crowd, it still felt very intimate.
Singer-songwriter Lee Hi was next to grace the stage. With her soothing and unforgettable voice, she started her set with “ONLY” and “BREATHE,” mesmerizing the crowd with her powerful vocals. Lee Hi showed her range with songs like “Savior,” “Rose,” “No One,” “1, 2, 3, 4,” “H.S.K.T.,” and “Red Lipstick.” She switched between ballads and upbeat songs and even rapped some parts of her songs. She also encouraged the crowd to sing along with her, a challenge Filipino fans never backed down from.
Rapper Loco was the third artist for that night, and he started with “MBTI,” a surefire way to get the crowd on their feet and jump around. He said he spent a couple of months in Cebu to learn English and that it was his first time in Manila. Loco’s stage was intense, and he kept the crowd hyped with “Party Band” and “OPPA.” He also performed “Too Much,” “Like Water,” “Don’t,” and “Somebody!” In between songs in his set, Loco asked if he could play “Say Yes,” a song from drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. He said he heard this song is very popular in the Philippines. Loco smiled as the crowd sang the chorus, and he said he will practice the song and promised to come back later to sing it with everyone. Loco’s set was exhilarating, and the crowd loved interacting with him.
Singer and rapper Gray was the next to perform, and he took the stage with “Dream Chaser.” He also performed “Show Window,” “TMI,” “Summer Night,” “Close 2 U,” “Baby Don’t Cry,” and “Make Love.” At one point Gray said, “You guys are crazy.” “You are reacting so well. I’m so thankful,” he added. When Gray performed “Lose Control,” he also played the melodica and encouraged the crowd to sing with him. The theater lit up with phone flashlights when Gray sang “U.” Loco joined Gray on stage to perform “Just Do It” and “Late Night,” finishing Gray’s versatile set.
It has only been a few months since Yugyeom held his first solo concert in Manila in August 2022, but Filipino fans, of course, could never get enough of him and came out in full force to support him. Yugyeom started his set with “I Want U Around.” He also performed “Take You Down” and “Lights.” “I miss you, guys. You are amazing,” Yugyeom said. “I’ve been to the Philippines with GOT7 before, but this feels new because I came with my AOMG crew.” Loco and Yugyeom sang “All About U,” while Gray shared the stage with Yugyeom and they performed “Running Through the Rain” and “All Your Fault.” Yugyeom also sang his newest release, “Ponytail.”
Rapper Simon Dominic, despite being the last performer of the night, is an artist that you will never forget after seeing him perform. He entered the stage with “Dax4” and followed it up with “Simon Dominic,” making the crowd shout the spelling of his name. He greeted the crowd with, “Ako ay si Simon Dominic. Magandang gabi po!” He also sang “POSE!,” “Room Type,” and “ya ain’t gang.” Woo, Loco, and Gray individually joined Simon D to perform different songs, including “GOTT,” “At Night,” and “Comfortable.” The remix of Jay Park’s “MOMMAE” was also part of Simon D’s set. His charm, wit, and talent were undeniable, and everyone couldn’t help but be amazed at how he carried himself on stage. He bantered with the crowd and the translator, and he even kept one fan’s playful banner, holding it throughout his set. Another fan asked him to design their next tattoo. He memorized Filipino phrases and often said the crowd was “maganda forever,” and in turn, fans taught him one word: pogi.
After Simon Dominic’s set, Loco asked the crowd to sing “Say Yes” with him again. He was prepared this time, and he also took a video of the crowd singing. He was all smiles.
The six artists took the stage, eager to perform for the crowd again, this time with their crew. Their set included “119 REMIX,” “Upside Down,” “TTFU,” “Party for the Night,” “ON AIR,” “We Are,” and “Who You,” and they took selfies with fans and signed autographs for them. Loco and Simon Dominic even ran to middle area of the theater.
The whole night was fun and intense. Even though the show was four hours long, everyone was craving for more. Fans were still energetic as they showed their love to the artists on stage, while the crew went around and interacted with the crowd. After hours of non-stop beats, dancing, and incredible visuals and production, we still didn’t want the party to end. Once you follow the movement, there’s no turning back. Universal Records, one of the biggest and most-known record labels here in the Philippines just produced its first-ever online mini-series and it’s set to launch this February 2023!
Of course, for a long-time and reputable organization that helped in bringing countless OPM hits for decades, this said show is aptly named after a famous song. This year, everyone is bound to witness a very sweet love story in “Pag-ibig Na Kaya”, led by the now real-life couple Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz. It is written by JP Lopez and directed by Niq Ablao.
The entire cast will be announced very soon but to spice things up, this show will be graced by a talented Korean actor, Kim Won-Shik, billed to be the second male lead for this show, that is all about love… and its many forms.
According to the celebrity, you can actually call him Sam as well aside from his Korean name. In terms of acting for TV drama, he already has a handful of experience under his belt. He’s notable for his roles in hit K-Drama series True Beauty (2020) plus the famous Netflix fantasy-romance Netflix series, Alchemy Of Souls (Season 1 2022). This project with UR is his absolute first time to work with a Filipino production and of course, his first-ever experience to act with our talented Filipino stars. Being casted in this mini-series also paved the way for Sam for yet another break in his acting career. Won-Shik is now the latest addition to the growing Universal Records Philippines’ managed artists, made possible by Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go.
One fun fact about Kim Won-Shik; he can really understand and even speak the Filipino language, since he was able to study here in the country for six and a half years.
According to Sam, he became easily invested in his role in “Pag-ibig Na Kaya” after reading the script and quickly felt that its overall treatment is truly inspired by K-Dramas. Although he admitted that he feels pressured since he needs to speak English and Filipino in most of his scenes, Sam considers filming this entire show a fantastic experience on his part and it greatly contributed to his growth as an actor.
He’s very professional, warm, and kind all throughout the filming process of the mini-series. He’s always enthusiastic to shoot his scenes, very energetic in being in character, and always ready to bring good vibes on the set. The actor also said that he quickly agreed to take part in this project after finding out that Direk Niq is handling it since he shared that he already saw numerous works from the talented director.
He shares, “It’s a good experience for me. It’s my first time working with Filipino actors. When I first read the script, I felt like it’s like a Korean drama because you know, there are so many similarities. I even asked the writer if he is inspired by some K-Dramas while making this. It was good! And I really wanted this role here in Pag-ibig Na Kaya”
“During our filming, they’re so kind to me, especially our director. I watched the music video that she made which is ‘Paubaya’ (Moira Dela Torre). Yeah, the color she uses and the storylines, it was really good! I really believe in Direk Niq that’s why I’m excited to join this series,” he adds.
Moreover, Since the Hallyu wave is really strong and alive here in the Philippines, Sam is very excited for everyone to see Pag-ibig Na Kaya and it’s coming out sooner than you think!
Make sure that you’re already subscribed to the Universal Records Philippines’ official YouTube channel and always be updated.
