Finally! ALANIS MORISSETTE heading back to Manila, set for AUG. 2023 at MOA Arena

Alanis Morissette, Canadian-American singer-songwriter, will finally perform her special one-night concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 1, 2023, to celebrate the 28th anniversary of her most recognized and iconic album, Jagged Little Pill.

Her upcoming show in Manila is part of her tour celebrating the supposedly 25th anniversary of her album and was originally scheduled to take place at the MOA Arena on April 2020 but it was moved on December 2021, and November 2022, the shows have been postponed three times because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jagged Little Pill captured the zeitgeist of the mid-’90s by crossing the line between Gen-X cynicism and self-realization. It was pitched somewhere between glitzy mainstream pop and angst-ridden alternative rock. The album, which produced a string of Top 10 songs like “You Oughta Know,” “Hand in My Pocket,” and “Ironic,”. It also won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. Making the 21-year-old Morissette the youngest performer to ever win the prestigious honor, the album was ranked number 69 on Rolling Stone’s list of “the 500 best albums of all time.”

Morissette won a total of seven Grammys and was nominated fourteen times. Included among her finest songs are You Learn, Head Over Feet, All I Really Want, Thank You, Mary Jane, Uninvited, Perfect, Forgiven, Right Through You, Wake Up, and many more.

And she has been one of the most influential singer-songwriter musicians in contemporary music since 1995. Her deeply expressive music and performances have received widespread praise from critics. Jagged Little Pill, Morissette’s debut album from 1995, was followed by nine more eclectic and acclaimed albums. She has composed music for theatrical releases and appeared in films both big and small. Aside from entertainment, she is a strong advocate for female empowerment, as well as spiritual, psychological, and physical well-being. Alanis Morissette launched Conversation with Alanis Morissette in 2016, a monthly podcast featuring conversations with a variety of revered authors, doctors, educators, and therapists on a wide range of psychosocial topics ranging from spirituality to developmentalism to art.

On December 5, 2019, “JAGGED LITTLE PILL” the musical made its Broadway debut at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. The show was nominated for fifteen Tony Awards and won 2 Tony Awards at the 2021 ceremony. In July of 2020, Alanis released her ninth studio album, Such Pretty Forks In The Road, to rave reviews. In August of 2021, Alanis kicked off her sold out world tour celebrating 25 years of Jagged Little Pill. The tour became the #1 female-fronted tour from 2021 and one of the Top Worldwide Tours of 2021 selling over 500,000 tickets. Alanis also stars in Fox’s sitcom, “The Great North,” which has returned for season 3 in 2022.

KAIA brims with magnetic confidence on empowering pop anthem “5678”

P-Pop girl group KAIA celebrates International Women’s Month with the release of “5678,” a dance-pop track about preparing to face everything your way, no matter what anyone else says.


Penned by the members of KAIA with the help of Ohwon Lee, PaperPlanet, and LEO, “5678” stands out as a fired-up anthem aimed towards inspiring women everywhere to never give up on their dreams.
“This is a living testament that we’re always trying to make it on our own terms, one step at a time, without looking back,” shares KAIA in a statement. “We are thankful for the opportunities that are presented to us, and we promise to deliver a message of positivity and hope in our songs, as a way to give back to our supporters.”


Uplifting and brimming with magnetic confidence, the song sends the pop quintet’s message of self-love and empowerment with lines (“Hingang malalim, lahat tatahakin / Hindi na ako maliligaw” trans: dbreath, ready to conquer the roadmap / This time, I won’t get lost) that will surely resonate with generations of listeners from all around the world.


“5678” is produced by Ohwon Lee, whose career-spanning work includes songs from some of the biggest names in K-Pop. His sonic approach fits KAIA’s energetic defiance, with a synth intro immediately signaling that something explosive is about to arrive, and frantic beats building up throughout the song to “effectively convey the girls’ unstoppable strengths towards the trials they face.”


The song will also be part of KAIA’s debut EP, which will be released sometime this year. It will be accompanied by a music video helmed by director Raymond Fabian, assisted by Jonathan Tal Placido, under the production house of Studio 79th. The visuals will drop on March 25, Saturday at 6pm.


KAIA adds, “Working with the production house is a smooth process because it’s a collaborative effort between the production team and the members of KAIA, and they are very open to the ideas of KAIA.”


KAIA’s “5678” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Entertainment.

Bryan Adams: A Rockstar Return

Bryan Adams, the Canadian rock legend, was back again in the Manila concert scene, much to the delight of his fans in the city. The concert brought together thousands of people thronging to the Araneta Coliseum to watch one of the most iconic artists of our time.

Adams, who has sold over 100 million records worldwide, has been a popular figure in Philippines for decades. His hits such as “Summer of ’69”, “Heaven”, and “Everything I Do (I Do It for You)” have been chart-toppers in the country, and his concerts have always been sold-out affairs.

The recent concert no different. Fans were treated hear all the classic hits as well as some new material from Adams’ latest album “Shine a Light”. The singer known for his energetic performances and charisma on stage, sure got the crowd rocking with his trademark raspy voice.

Calling the Manila crowd as “magic”, Adams took to stage over 25 songs from his robust discography. It was one sing-along, rock-along and nostalgia-tugging-along evening for everyone.

Bryan promised to be back, and we’re sure his loyal fans will be there waiting for him.

Stray Kids, the K-Pop sensation known for their pulsating beats, staggering choreography, and powerful energy, graced Manila with a 2-day concert called MANIAC WORLD TOUR, presented by PULP LIVE WORLD. The concert featured some of Stray Kids’ biggest hits, such as “Back Door,” “God’s Menu,” “Miroh,” and “Case 143.” These songs have become anthems for thousands of fans, and hearing them live was an unforgettable experience. Despite having a member short, the boys delivered AF! Along with their signature tracks, Stray Kids also debut some new material at the concert such as covers of “OMG” by NewJean and “Ikaw” by Yeng Constantino – adding to the anticipation and excitement.

One of the most striking aspects of the concert was their intricate choreography. The members of the group are known for their acrobatic and synchronized dance moves, which are a feast for the eyes. Fans bore witness to a lot of these moves, as the group gave a dynamic and visually stunning show. The various special effects and lighting that accompanied the performances were nothing but stellar. Pyrotechnics, lasers, a giant robot claw and other visual elements that add to the concert’s spectacle.

Of course, the highlight of any Stray Kids concert is the interaction between the members of the group and their fans. Stray Kids has a unique bond with their STAYs. At the concert, the group took time to chat with the audience, play games, and express their gratitude for the fans’ support. It is this personal touch that has endeared Stray Kids to so many followers around the world.

BGYO marks 2nd anniversary with “Be Us” album showcase at Skydome

BGYO members Gelo, Akira, JL, Mikki, and Nate are getting ready to set the stage on fire for their upcoming fan con—the “Be Us” second anniversary album showcase happening at SM City North Edsa Skydome this May 12 (Friday).

The group’s sophomore album “Be Us” showed great success as it has racked up over 4.3 million streams, while its tracks “Magnet” reached 1 million streams and “Tumitigil Ang Mundo” reached 1.5 million streams on Spotify. It also topped the iTunes’ album chart in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates.

The “Be Us” second anniversary album showcase tickets will be available at SM Tickets priced at P2,500 (VVIP), P2,000 (VIP), and P1,000 (regular).

BGYO’s fans called ACEs are in for another surprise because the “Be Us” album box set is available for pre-order for only P1,999. Recently, BGYO became a trending topic after their leader Gelo went viral after a fan posted his 2×2 ID picture on Twitter which earned him praise for his stunning visuals, while the group’s main dancer Nate caught the attention of the K-pop group BTS who liked his dance cover of J-Hope and J. Cole’s “on the street” on TikTok.

B.I. 2023 Asia Tour L.O.L. Hidden Stage [Manila]

Almost 7 months after B.I.’s first fanmeet in the Philippines, Filo IDs got to see him again live in action last March 5 for his B.I. 2023 Asia Tour L.O.L. Hidden Stage in Manila.


With the PICC Plenary Hall full of anticipation from fans, the Korean rapper B.I. (Kim Han Bin) opened the show with his hit single ‘BTBT’. Following that, he performed his Show Me the Money 3 performance ‘Be I’ and solo single ‘One and Only’.


During his ment, Filo IDs kept on asking him to remove his jacket while chanting “Take it off!”. While seriously considering his beloved fans request, he replied that he is not yet ready but will only take off half of it.
He also performed other top songs from his past albums and singles such as ‘Waterfall’, ‘Flame’, ‘Stay’, ‘Got it like that’, ‘Stay’, and many more. He serenaded Filo IDs with his sweet songs ‘Lover’ and ‘Middle with you’.


He showed how much he loves his fans by roaming through the venue not just once, but twice, to meet and greet every single Filo IDs in the middle of his performance. King of fanservice indeed!


With the arrival of a special guest, fans screamed loudly as James Reid surprised the fans with his ‘You and I’ performance. During his ment with B.I., James recommended him to eat balut to commemorate his visit in the Philippines.


After that, he continued to give a rocking performance of his songs like ‘Illa Illa’, ‘Keep me up’, ‘Numb’, ‘COSMOS’, and more.


Before ending the show with ‘Re-birth’, Filo IDs were finally able to show their long awaited core memory project for their beloved idol. A special video just for B.I. was flashed in the screen. While watching, B.I. felt emotional and was teary eyed at the end of the video. He extended his gratitude and said that he will forever treasure the love Filo IDs have given.


As the night is still young, B.I. performed two to-be-released songs during his encore stage. As if this is not enough to excite the fans, he shared that he would release his next album three months from now!
As his finale song, he presented and sang with his fans his hit song ‘COSMOS’.


Before officially ending the concert, some of the fan benefits included a photo opportunity with B.I. and a send-off session, for VIP ticket holders.

After a hugely successful debut in 2019, Zark’s Fest returns this summer with their biggest offering in live music and comfort grub.


Presented and produced by Zark’s Burgers, a popular burger joint in the Philippines, and organized by GNN Entertainment Productions, the hybrid festival promises to treat its patrons with an exciting music lineup, more inclusive programming, a dedicated space for lifestyle, crafts, and arts merchants, and most especially, a hearty serving of American comfort food, the Zark’s way.


Headlining the festival are the award-winning and best-selling Filipino band Ben&Ben and 2021/2022’s most-streamed solo artist Zack Tabudlo. The Manila-based food and music festival are also set to feature some of the most prominent names in the local music industry, including Ebe Dancel, Urbandub, Sandwich, The Itchyworms, BINI, Kiyo, SOS, Autotelic, Any Name’s Okay, Lola Amour, Hey June!, and Eli & Six The Northstar.


“We’re coming out stronger this year with a more diverse lineup and activities,” says Zark’s Burgers CEO Zark Varona. “Make sure to pack your sunscreen as Zark’s Fest brings a festive experience in the best possible way. This year’s edition ups the ante of the festival format by doubling down on the experience with fair-themed booths and a more family-friendly vibe. “Our goal is to create a safe space where everyone is welcomed and included,” Varona explains. “Hopefully with Zark’s Fest, we’ll be able to deliver a music-filled destination for people from all walks of life.”
