“Parang si Rihanna, babae pero hustla ayaw mo sa drama, gusto mo sa gangsta,”
Time and time again, Shanti Dope always comes up with dazzling wordplay, spectacular verses, and gorgeous rap flow. But you haven’t seen it all. He’s once again ready to showcase the hacks and tricks that he rolled up his sleeves.
Presenting the Rap Phenom’s latest offering called “Tricks”, a song that revels in one’s need of an emotional connection and even magnetic sexual attraction towards someone that might develop into something more. Co-written by Lester Paul Vano, “Tricks” is Shanti Dope’s punchy take on an easygoing yet more mature manner of delivering his perspectives and storytelling prowess. It’s tightly metered and packed with lush beats too. While he uses some vulgarities while unraveling the narrator’s story, he weaves it in such an artistically powerful way, leaving listeners awestruck with this new set of “tricks.”
Another triumphant feat for the young Rap Phenom is the fact that he actually raps and sings his own chorus this time around. In fact, it’s his first time to do it for this track and it further proves that he’s ready to bolster his versatility as an artist. Its official lyric video easily gained over 100,000 views on YouTube in just a day.
“Tricks” is now out on all digital platforms under Universal Records Philippines and is part of New Music Friday Philippines playlist on Spotify.
“Kumusta?” or “How are you?” is always a welcome question amongst friends. It’s an ice breaker for what would be the start of the conversation or a soothing acknowledgement to someone going through tough times.
Written in collaboration with Flow G, Shanti Dope’s latest release with the title “Kamusta” touches on a very delicate topic — depression. Depression is a serious matter and we’ve lost many young and very talented lives because of this mental health issue.
It comes as a surprise that with Shanti Dope and Flow G’s persona as hip-hop artists such a topic can be an inspiration for a song; which only goes to show how well-rounded individuals they are and not just an echo for grunt and angst. In terms of the lyrics, the two rappers were able to bring up the important discussion regarding mental wellness and helped in the stigma of suffering from depression being removed, in their own special way.
If someone with depression does not find God for solace, a family member or a friend can help with the continued reassurance that help is always available. All it takes is to say, “Kamusta?” “Meron bang nakakubli sa likod ng ‘yong ngiti at kutitap ng iyong mga mata? Mabigat ba sa dibdib ‘pag laging pinipigilang sabihin ang iyong nadarama? Di mo gustong malaman ng mundo ang kahinaan mo Kung wala kang malapitan, Pwede mo akong sabihan.”
“Kamusta” will be available on all streaming platforms under Universal Records Philippines. The music video was directed by Jeremy Lim of Blck Mrkt.

Shanti Dope is extending his winning streak this 2022 with the explosive release of “Amen”, his brand-new single featuring Pricetagg.
The young Rap Phenom and the prominent battle rap emcee put their heads together for this angsty track with a soaring flow, explaining that no matter how hard the grind is, you should just trust the process and grow.
Here in “Amen”, both Shanti Dope and Pricetagg tried to experience various lyrical styles and proved that they are unmistakably strong game-changers for the genre. The song follows his previously released single “Loaded” and both will be part of his upcoming EP which will be out this month!
In support of the soaring single’s release, Shanti Dope released its official music video, out now on the Universal Records Philippines’ YouTube channel.
The music video sees the two rappers as two Ilustrados from the Spanish colonial period. While performing their verses, they mingle with army generals, along with fellow high-profile and educated Filipinos in a 19th century-style banquet. It is directed by Jeremy Lim. “Amen” MV went straight to #28 on trending for music on YouTube hours after it was released.
Shanti Dope drops another surprise single to start the month of October with such sick beats and rhythm. In this new track featuring the up-and-coming artist, HELLMERRY, Shanti gives us a glimpse of what it is like to live a successful life loaded with all that they have ever dreamed of. Since Shanti entered the industry half a decade ago, it has been a crazy fast ride to the top for him. At such a young age, he has been leaving very distinct marks in the local and international music scene.
For Shanti who has been creating hits after hits, this ride to success ain’t slowing down anytime soon. In 2018, Disney star Sabrina Carpenter teamed up with the young rap star for “Almost Love.” Following this success, his most-talked about single “Amatz” – a song that made quite a headline when it was first released in 2019, reached international fame when it was featured in the premiere season of Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier earlier this year. Just months after this headline, this same song continued to add laudation among his many milestones as it emerged in Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart on number 10.
