Alexander 23 releases somber single, “The Hardest Part”

GRAMMY®-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Alexander 23 releases “The Hardest Part,” a somber track that grapples with loss and heartbroken nostalgia. Opening with gentle keys, “The Hardest Part” finds Alexander at his most vulnerable, remembering a friend he lost touch with, then lost forever. “I guess the hardest part of getting old,” he sings on the moving chorus. “Is that some people that you love don’t.” The song is a showcase for Alexander’s distinctive songwriting and his ability to transform heavy emotional moments into intimate, relatable pop songs.

Co-produced by Dan Nigro (Olivia Rodrigo, Carly Rae Jepsen, Conan Gray) and co-penned with Amy Allen, “The Hardest Part” is the latest taste of Alexander’s forthcoming full-length debut due out later this year. On an Instagram post the rising artist shared more insight behind the track, “I didn’t want to put it out. It felt wrong to commoditize grief, especially as so much of it wasn’t my own. I began to slowly send it to close family and friends, and the response was overwhelming to say the least. It made me reevaluate the song’s potential place in the world because it reminded me of what I have turned to music for countless times before, to feel understood when words and actions weren’t enough.”

Throughout 2022 Alexander has previewed his new sound – he shared eclectic, genre-expanding songs like “Crash” and sensitive moments like “The Hardest Part,” and “Hate Me If It Helps” co-written by Olivia Rodrigo. Alexander shared these tracks live while on John Mayer’s Sob Rock Tour 2022 tour and will continue to share new tracks next month as he heads to the UK and Ireland for shows supporting pop upstart Tate McRae. Later this year, he’ll play sets at festivals including Lollapalooza in Chicago and Life Is Beautiful in Las Vegas.

Billie Eilish 2nd album, ‘Happier Than Ever’, out now

Billie Eilish released her highly anticipated sophomore studio album, ‘Happier Than Ever’ on Darkroom/Interscope Records. The 16-track full-length proves to be another welcomed triumph for popular music. A combination of non-fiction and fantasy, Eilish steps out into the limelight as one of the most treasured, talented and intricate songwriters of her generation. Weaving razor-sharp wit, everyday observations, secrets and escapades, all-the-while exploring what it is to be a complex human being, navigating the modern world. Listeners will be left enchanted and captivated by this new chapter, as she delivers her rawest, most confessionary work to date.

The album’s essence, artwork and color palette was inspired by some of her all-time favorite recording artists Julie London, Frank Sinatra and Peggy Lee, and the 1950’s and 60’s “golden era” that they reigned. Produced by her brother FINNEAS at his home studio in Los Angeles, ‘Happier Than Ever’ solidifies Billie Eilish once again, as one of the most crucial pop artists of our time.

Accompanying the release of ‘Happier Than Ever,’ is the goose-bump-inducing music video for her latest single and album namesake. The video was directed by Eilish and perfectly captures the spirit of the track.

In other news, seven-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Billie Eilish will make her Disney+ debut with “Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles,” a cinematic concert experience, premiering globally on Friday, September 3. Fresh off the heels of her brand-new album, “Happier than Ever,” the Disney+ original will feature an intimate performance of every song in the album’s sequential order – for the first and only time – from the stage of the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and by Oscar-winner Patrick Osborne the special will also include animated elements, taking viewers on a dreamlike journey through Billie’s hometown of Los Angeles and its most iconic backdrops. “Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” features FINNEAS, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, and world renowned Brazilian guitarist, Romero Lubambo, with Orchestra Arrangements by David Campbell. “Happier than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles” was produced by Interscope Films and Darkroom Productions, in associate with Nexus Studios and Aron Levine Productions, with Kerry Asmussen as the Live Concert Director and Pablo Berron as Director of Photography.

Starting February 3 in New Orleans, Billie Eilish’s sold-out HAPPIER THAN EVER, THE WORLD TOUR commences. The arena run will be making 32 stops across North America, before heading over the Atlantic for an 18-date arena tour through Europe and the United Kingdom, starting June 3. Imagine Dragons new single, “Wrecked”, out now

GRAMMY®-winning, multi-Platinum band Imagine Dragons unveil their new single “Wrecked,” released today via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope – listen HERE. Additionally, the band announced the arrival of their forthcoming fifth studio album, Mercury – Act 1, set for release on September 3, 2021. Imagine Dragons teamed up with esteemed producer Rick Rubin to create Mercury – Act 1, a candid album that abandons metaphorically charged lyrics and instead embraces emotional extremities, holding nothing back. The title draws inspiration from the word “mercurial.” Mercury – Act 1 is available for preorder now HERE. The pre-order launch includes multiple album configurations including CD, deluxe CD “book”, CD box set, multiple vinyl configurations, cassette, exclusive CD and vinyl with alt cover and poster for Target (US) and merch items unique to the album cover art and album package.

“Wrecked” was written by lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee & Daniel Platzman and produced by Imagine Dragons. “Wrecked” was mixed in Spatial Audio and is accompanied by a new lyric video – watch HERE.

The song is a powerful and raw outpouring about grief, loss, and moving forward. Reynolds started writing the song shortly after losing his sister-in-law, Alisha Durtschi Reynolds, to cancer.

“She was the brightest light. A beacon of joy and strength for everyone she met. Her sudden passing has shaken me in ways that I still am unable to express. I was with her and my brother when she passed, and it was the first time in my life that I had witnessed death in this way. It sealed into my mind the fragility of life and finality of this all. I’ve watched my brother face something that no one should have to. But I’ve also seen his faith bring him hope in a future with her. I can only hope for the same,” Reynolds says. “This song was my way of dealing with it all, as music has always been my refuge. No longer being a man of fervent faith, I can only hope that she hears it somewhere in a place where she is healed and no longer in pain. This song is my wish for an eternity with those that I love.”

The emotional intimacy of “Wrecked” continues to provide a glimpse into what fans can expect from Mercury – Act 1, the band’s first new music since their 2018 album Origins. Billboard revered that the recent releases of “Follow You” and “Cutthroat” marked the band’s return “with soaring ambition intact.” On launch day, both singles will be available in Spatial Audio.

“Follow You,” released March 12, reached No. 1 on both Mediabase’s Alternative Radio chart and Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. It marked the band’s quickest ascent to the top of the Billboard chart, surpassing the seven-week climb for “Natural” in 2018 and eight-week climb for “Believer” in 2017. “Follow You” is a love song written by vocalist Dan Reynolds upon re-marrying his wife after the couple had separated. “I wanted [the song] to represent a love that is realistic. One where love isn’t perfect, but it endures,” Reynolds said. The single’s accompanying music video, featuring Rob McElhenney & Kaitlin Olson of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, offered a cheeky visual companion piece to fans and caught the attention of press. The video has amassed over 30 million views to date – watch HERE.

Billie Eilish releases new track, ‘Lost Cause’ with self-directed video

Billie Eilish continues to tease her highly anticipated sophomore studio album, Happier Than Ever (Darkroom/Interscope Records), with a new track, ‘Lost Cause,’ along with an official music video, also directed by the seven-time GRAMMY® award-winning, multi-platinum-selling artist.

‘Lost Cause’ follows the announcement of her welcomed arena tour, Happier Than Ever, The World Tour, which has since sold out on all dates of the first leg in North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.

The seven-time GRAMMY® Award winning artist and songwriter has also confirmed she will be continuing her work with sustainability partner REVERB for her Happier Than Ever, The World Tour, with the fan-facing Billie Eilish Action Village at each show which will focus on climate action and climate justice, hosting and supporting BIPOC and women-led environmental organizations as well as a comprehensive program via REVERB’s forthcoming Music Climate Revolution campaign. In addition to reducing the tour’s environmental footprint, the initiative will support projects that directly and measurably eliminate greenhouse gases. These collective efforts will make the tour Climate Positive; eliminating significantly more emissions than the tour creates.

2021 has already been quite the year for 19-year-old Eilish whose latest single ‘Your Power’ debuted at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, logging more than 150 Million streams in the first two weeks of release. Earlier this year, she took home two additional GRAMMY Awards; Record of the Year for “everything i wanted,” and Best Song Written For Visual Media for her James Bond song “No Time To Die.” In February, her groundbreaking documentary film, ‘The World’s A Little Blurry’ — directed by R.J. Cutler — saw its Apple TV+ global release and received critical praise worldwide. Earlier this month, Billie Eilish made her book debut with BILLIE EILISH, a stunning visual narrative journey through her life. Published by Grand Central Publishing (GCP), the book features hundreds of never-before-seen photos, and captures the essence of Billie inside and out, offering readers personal glimpses into her childhood, her life on tour, and more. Olivia Rodrigo shares new song, “Good 4 U” from her debut album, Sour

Multi-platinum singer/songwriter, Olivia Rodrigo, today unveiled her new original song, “good 4 u” – the third track released from her highly-anticipated debut album, SOUR, out Friday, May 21, 2021 via Geffen Records. On “good 4 u,” Rodrigo delivers a euphorically upbeat and dynamic pop-rock track, brilliantly undercut by the biting honesty of her lyrics. The stadium-ready song – co-produced by Alexander 23 and frequent collaborator, Dan Nigro – once again underscores why Rodrigo is the most promising young artist to emerge this year. Rodrigo will also make her musical guest debut on Saturday Night Live on May 15. Stream or download the new track HERE, and pre-order SOUR HERE.

The official music video for “good 4 u” is available to watch HERE. The new visual, directed by artist Petra Collins, pays homage to 90s/2000s cult horror and dark comedy films. The video also made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live and MTVU, as well as on the ViacomCBS Times Square billboard.

Rodrigo’s highly-anticipated debut album, SOUR, reveals the tremendous power of her raw self-expression, poetic specificity, and incredible talent at illustrating complex emotions in high-impact pop songs. Her mesmerizing, yet minimalist form alt-pop captured audiences worldwide on January 8, 2021 with the monumental launch of her original debut single, “drivers license.” The song premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, holding the top spot for eight consecutive weeks and becoming the first in 2021 to hit one billion total global streams. The song is also the first this year to be RIAA certified at Gold, Platinum, double and triple-Platinum, not to mention scoring the No. 1 spot at Top 40 radio for five consecutive weeks and having the quickest trip to the top spot for a first-time charting female artist.

“drivers license” also broke the Spotify record for the most single-day streams for a non-holiday song (on January 12) and had the biggest weekly streaming debut for any song globally in Spotify history – beating Rodrigo’s own previously-held record for the most Spotify streams for a song in a week. On Amazon Music, “drivers license” amassed the most streams in a week for a song debut, the most on-demand streams in a single day, and the most voice requests ever via ‘Alexa’ for a song in one day worldwide.

On April 1, 2021, Rodrigo made music industry history again with the release of her incredible sophomore single, “deja vu” – becoming the first artist to debut her first two proper singles in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. Racking up critical acclaim from the likes of Pitchfork, Billboard, the Los Angeles Times, Stereogum, and more, the RIAA Gold certified track underscores Rodrigo’s unforgettably honest narrative voice and introspective, sophisticated songwriting.
