Musical theatre fans can look forward to Filipina singer and actress Rachelle Ann Go belting it out at Expo 2020 Dubai’s Jubilee Park on 26 March.
The award-winning thespian, who has enjoyed prime roles in a number of long-running theatre productions, including Miss Saigon and Hamilton, last year reprised her role as Fantine in the stage run of Les Misérables in London’s West End.
Enthusing that it was an honour to be performing at Expo 2020 Dubai, Rachelle Ann Go said: “This is my first show back after two years of not performing, so I’m really excited about singing in front of thousands of people, including my fellow Filipinos.
“The message I want to convey is one of gratitude. After a tough few years for everyone during the pandemic, we are able to come together and sing together – and we should never take that for granted.”
Rachelle, who is influenced by musical heavyweights Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion, began her career by participating in and winning several singing competitions, the first of which was in the long-running Philippine variety show Eat Bulaga! at the age of 11, before she emerged as the Grand Champion of reality talent competition Search for a Star in 2004.
Rachelle Ann Go will perform at Jubilee Park from 2200 GST on 26 March. Entry is free for all Expo 2020 Dubai ticket holders, but concert-goers are advised to arrive early.
