3 things to look for to at OVERPASS: Kpop Concert on June 11

As seemingly infinite flow of Korean acts continue to fill big venues in the Philippines, OVERPASS: K-Pop Music Concerts offers a night of stellar performances with today’s best of K-Pop – EXO’s Baekhyun, Jeon Somi, and B.I!

Happening on June 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, OVERPASS brings together EXO-Ls, Sommungchis, and I.Ds for the ultimate fan gathering celebrating the excellence of K-Pop music in R&B, Pop, Soul, and Hip-Hop genres.

Baekhyun’s much-awaited return

After being officially discharged from his two-year military service last February, Phixos surely missed seeing the one-and-only Byun Baekhyun! Picking up from the release of his album “Bambi” in March 2021, the main vocalist of EXO is now unstoppable as he has been appearing in festivals around the globe immediately since his return.

Just imagine singing along to “Betcha” and “Candy” as Filo EXO-Ls finally reunite with their beloved Kyoong!

A multi-talented artist, Baekhyun is one of the busiest artists in K-Pop. Apart from EXO and its sub-units, he has also ventured in other acts such as joining the supergroup SuperM, debuting as an actor in “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” and finding massive success as a soloist. In fact, Baekhyun is the first artist since 2001 to achieve a million sales for his EP “Delight” and he then went on to receive his second million-seller with “Bambi.” Baekhyun also achieved the most “Best Male Artist” trophies after winning 3 years in a row at Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) history, a prestigious music awards show in South Korea.

Jeon Somi’s first visit to the Philippines

Best known for her viral tracks “DUMB DUMB” and “Birthday,” hitmaker Jeon Somi will finally come to the Philippines! OVERPASS marks the soloist’s very first visit to the country and Filo Sommungchis are in for a treat as their yearning to hear Somi live will finally come true.

Recently, her hit songs “What You Waiting For,” “XOXO,” and “DUMB DUMB” were featured in the new romcom series Netflix’s “XO, Kitty” which is currently one of the top streamed shows at the streaming giant.

B.I endless love and appreciation for PH I.Ds

Kim Hanbin (stage name: B.I) is indeed in love with his Filo I.Ds. In just a year, the rapper-producer has paid a visit to the Philippines twice – one for a fanmeeting last August 2022 and one for a solo concert last March 2023. OVERPASS will be the artist’s third solo visit in the Philippines.

The solo hip-hop act will be having his comeback this June 1 with the release of his second studio album “To Die For.” B.I has been performing the title track “Dare to Love” at various festivals prior to its official drop, and who knows, maybe the lucky audience of OVERPASS will be one of the first to hear the new tracks live!

Tickets for the OVERPASS: K-Pop Music Concert are available for purchase at TicketNet outlets nationwide and online at www.ticketnet.com.ph.

Ticket holders from each section will receive fan benefits ranging from souvenir cards, posters, lanyards, and even a chance to get a free album of the artists!

B.I. 2023 Asia Tour L.O.L. Hidden Stage [Manila]

Almost 7 months after B.I.’s first fanmeet in the Philippines, Filo IDs got to see him again live in action last March 5 for his B.I. 2023 Asia Tour L.O.L. Hidden Stage in Manila.

With the PICC Plenary Hall full of anticipation from fans, the Korean rapper B.I. (Kim Han Bin) opened the show with his hit single ‘BTBT’. Following that, he performed his Show Me the Money 3 performance ‘Be I’ and solo single ‘One and Only’.

During his ment, Filo IDs kept on asking him to remove his jacket while chanting “Take it off!”. While seriously considering his beloved fans request, he replied that he is not yet ready but will only take off half of it.
He also performed other top songs from his past albums and singles such as ‘Waterfall’, ‘Flame’, ‘Stay’, ‘Got it like that’, ‘Stay’, and many more. He serenaded Filo IDs with his sweet songs ‘Lover’ and ‘Middle with you’.

He showed how much he loves his fans by roaming through the venue not just once, but twice, to meet and greet every single Filo IDs in the middle of his performance. King of fanservice indeed!

With the arrival of a special guest, fans screamed loudly as James Reid surprised the fans with his ‘You and I’ performance. During his ment with B.I., James recommended him to eat balut to commemorate his visit in the Philippines.

After that, he continued to give a rocking performance of his songs like ‘Illa Illa’, ‘Keep me up’, ‘Numb’, ‘COSMOS’, and more.

Before ending the show with ‘Re-birth’, Filo IDs were finally able to show their long awaited core memory project for their beloved idol. A special video just for B.I. was flashed in the screen. While watching, B.I. felt emotional and was teary eyed at the end of the video. He extended his gratitude and said that he will forever treasure the love Filo IDs have given.

As the night is still young, B.I. performed two to-be-released songs during his encore stage. As if this is not enough to excite the fans, he shared that he would release his next album three months from now!
As his finale song, he presented and sang with his fans his hit song ‘COSMOS’.

Before officially ending the concert, some of the fan benefits included a photo opportunity with B.I. and a send-off session, for VIP ticket holders.
This event would not be possible without the dedication of Three Angles Production and the countless staffs behind the scenes to give Filo IDs the best concert they deserved.

Concert Round-up: B.I. Offline – Hanbin Meets Filipino IDs

After meeting IDs in Singapore and Bangkok, South Korean singer-rapper B.I. visited Manila and met his IDs offline at the New Frontier Theater on Aug. 27. There were two shows especially for his fans in the Philippines, and each showcased not only B.I.’s myriad skills but also the connection between him and IDs.

The fan meet started with a video of B.I., and his powerful set started with “Waterfall” and “illa illa.” In between songs, there were other surprises prepared for the IDs, including games and interviews.
During the interview with the emcee, Hanbin said he wanted to try adobo and that Filipino fans are very passionate. “I’ll make sure to come back here. Please wait for me,” B.I. said.

The first game was a mystery box game. B.I. needed to guess the different items in the box (guyabano, toy snake, dried mangoes, and traditional pamaypay), and if he didn’t, there was a penalty. Spoiler alert: He did all the penalties even though he guessed the items correctly. He learned the choreography on the spot and danced to IVE’s “Love Dive” and NewJean’s “Attention.” B.I. also did push-ups and cute poses for fans as penalty.

They played a video next, and the IDs got to know Hanbin a little more with this interview (the questions were brought by the cutest MC Yeon Tan). B.I. said if he would have been a physicist if he weren’t an artist. He also recommends cheonggukjang as one Korean food that international fans should try. He was also asked about his dream or goal as an artist. “Putting my footsteps on the Grammy awards, putting my name on Billboard, and having concerts and going on a tour,” B.I. answered.
The show continued with multi-talented Hanbin’s performances of “Flame” and “Lover” that got the audience on their feet.

The second game of the event was called the date balance game, where fans would help B.I. decide what he should choose to do if they were on a date with him. What should B.I. wear on their amusement park date? The fans chose cute duck pajamas. They also taught him to say “mahal na mahal kita,” which made the game even more unforgettable.
B.I.’s set continued with “BTBT,” “Cosmos,” and “Re-birth.”

Filipino IDs also prepared a special video for B.I. and showed the projects and donations they have made to help various communities, especially during the pandemic. It was a heartfelt message and was further proof of how special this fandom is.

For his last song, B.I. sang “Gray” and walked around the venue to meet his fans even closer.

Aside from the fun-filled fan meet, ticket holders also had different fan benefits such as soundcheck access, hi-touch, and photo op.

B.I. said he wanted his fan meet to be fun, meaningful, and special, and by the end of the fan meet, I know it was all that and more.

B.I. last visited Manila with iKON in 2018, and B.I. Offline is his first fan meeting. Special thanks to Three Angles Productions.
