Boyce Avenue is a Florida-based band whose name is a combination of two streets they grew up on in Sarasota. The band is popular for its strong acoustic roots and consists of the three Manzano brothers – Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals) and Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals). The band was formed in 2004 and in 2007 they began posting their videos on YouTube to great success. To date, they have over 4.8 Billion YouTube views and over 13.2 Million subscribers, making their channel one of the most popular in the world. The band frequently tours North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and visits new countries every year.

Singer-songwriter Adie is best known for his massive hits “Paraluman”, “Tahanan”, “Dungaw” and “Mahika” which features Janine Berdin, and is currently one of the top artists on Spotify Philippines with over 3.6 million monthly listeners. OPM band Nobita burst into the music scene with their mega-hit “Ikaw Lang” and wedding-themed track “Unang Sayaw”, and also reached a new milestone in their career for achieving more than 130 million streams on Spotify alone. They are also joined in Manila by pop rock band The Juans, who are behind the chart-topping hits “Hindi Tayo Pwede” and “Hatid”, and who recently had their first major concert at the Big Dome.

Music Festival for a cause: Sigla Music Festival set to be held on July 16 in Batangas City

Dubbed as the biggest live event and concert in Southern Luzon since before the pandemic hit in 2022, the Sigla Music Festival (SMF) is set to electrify an estimated of no less than six thousand festival attendees on July 16 at the Batangas Provincial Sports Complex.

Some of the country’s top OPM artists will hit the stage to jam and serendate the crowd namely Ben&Ben, Adie, Zack Tabudlo, The Juans, Mayonnaise among others, with the said line-up topping PH’s spotify charts in recent years.

Organized by the Rotaract Club of Youth Batangueño (RYB), who made their debut as a youth-led non-government organization in 2021, in partnership with Beyond Limits Event Production, the SMF is first and foremost a benefit concert wherein a significant portion of its sales will go directly to 10 select charitable beneficiaries in the province of Batangas.

Meanwhile, despite being held in Batangas City, 107Km away from the country’s capital, SMF attendees will be coming from various places from across the island of Luzon, proving the high anticipation and excitement of concert-goers to go back again to the pre-pandemic situation.

According to Mr. Ervylle Abarintos, RYB’s Charter President, organizing such a huge event for a relatively young organization like RYB is a tough challenge but it was through their sheer hard work and dedication that all preparations were accomplished.

On the other hand, SMF will also give spotlight to budding local Batangueño artists who aspires to enter the music scene and also make an impact to the future of OPM, thereby giving a chance for newbies to have a shot at sharing their talents in the concert stage.

With tickets quickly selling out, all interested to be part of the growing SMF community are encouraged to secure their slots through https://www.facebook.com/racyouthbatangueno/

Ayala Malls amps up Filipino music at ALive! feat. Zack Tabudlo, Arthur Nery, Nadine Lustre and more

Finally, concerts are back! This time, it’s not virtual—it’s face to face. The era of streaming from home is slowly drifting to be replaced by the way concerts have always been enjoyed by true-blue fans. Local artists are welcomed back on stage as Ayala Malls hosts a series of physical, mallwide concerts running all the way until June. The event, known as ALive!, spotlights rising and established artists including Zack Tabudlo, Arthur Nery, Adie, Sud, Nadine Lustre, and more.

ALive! artist breakdown
First on the lineup is the fast-rising singer-songwriter/producer, Zack Tabudlo, who’s set to play at Market! Market! on April 23 and Ayala Malls Manila Bay on April 24. The “Binibini” hitmaker under Island Records Philippines has been touring Ayala Malls since early March to serenade audiences with his latest hits like “Asan Ka Na Ba,” “Pano,” and other favorites from his breakout album, “Episode”.

Twenty-three year old Arthur Nery is sharing his jazzy, feel-good sound as he performs at Solenad on April 24; Fairview Terraces on May 8; Cloverleaf on May 13; Alabang Town Center on May 21; Ayala Malls Feliz on May 28; MarQuee Mall on June 4; and Harbor Point on August 6. The CDO-local, who is now under Viva Records, broke into the scene in 2019 after releasing his album, “Letters Never Sent.”

“While many artists became more known through digital platforms during the pandemic, nothing beats physical live performances in front of the crowd,” says Vic del Rosario, founder and chairman of Viva Entertainment, Inc.

Other Viva Records stars to grace the stage include Adie, the Biñan, Laguna native who quickly rose to fame with over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 67 million plays for his breakout hit, “Paraluman.” Fans can finally watch the wonderboy live at Solenad on April 23; MarQuee Mall on May 13; and Harbor Point on June 17. Meanwhile, mega-superstar Nadine Lustre will be at Market! Market! on April 24 for a one-time only concert. Fresh from Siargao, audiences can expect a mix of upbeat and soulful vibes from the “Wildest Dreams” singer.

As one once said, two is better than one! Audiences can catch two-in-one performances from Warner Music talents at Ayala Malls Manila Bay’s “Live at The Garden”. Playing onstage are modern rock-funk-pop, Lola Amour, and singing-songwriting girl-duo, Leanne & Naara on May 1; Boogie-fusion band, Basically Saturday Night, and rising star, Arthur Miguel, on May 8; and “Forever Alive” singer, Keiko Necesario, and indie rock/jazz fusion band, Sud, on May 14.

Finally, Happy Plays Music Festival features some of the country’s biggest names in music including the following main acts: Sandwich, 6cyclemind, Moonstar88, Imago, and Gracenote. “We thank Ayala Malls for giving artists and fans the opportunity to gather within a safe and comfortable space. Ayala Malls is the perfect venue for the comeback of face-to-face performances because of its controlled environment and convenient accessibility,” muses del Rosario.

“We want to continue creating amazing experiences for our patrons by bringing live entertainment back in our malls. This goes hand-in-hand with our goal to support Filipino music and local artists especially after all the lockdowns and quarantines we’ve been through,” says Tintin Enriquez-Yabao, Ayala Malls Consumer Marketing Head.

Adie finds “Paraluman” in Ivana Alawi

She plays the titular character of the song who takes you on an unexpected elevator ride. Adie and Paraluman’s story proves that beautiful things may bloom in the most unexpected and confined places.

Released on the YouTube channel of O/C Records on June 5, 2021 is directed by Bela Padilla. OC Records bosses, Kean Cipriano and Chynna Ortaleza, asked her to listen to Paraluman and soon after the storyline of her short film was born. Bela also made the collaboration with Ivana possible. Ivana truly embodies who Paraluman is and she was able to effectively take us on a refreshing journey in this story.
The result of this fun and creative endeavor between artists is a beautiful story filled with romance, a proverbial ride through sweetness, sorrow, and ultimately, the love and fulfillment one feels through such unexpected, romantic encounters.

Adie, remains humbled and grateful to the beautiful things happening in his career so far. He is thankful to Bela and Ivana for giving him a chance to work and learn from them. He also hopes that this will not be the last time that they could collaborate on something together.
Paraluman has also entered Spotify’s Viral 50 Global, has been steady on the Viral 50 Philippines chart, and has been featured on several, prominent Spotify playlists. The song has recently reached over two million streams since its release.

Paraluman’s official Music Video is now available on the official YouTube channel of O/C Records.
