It has been a great year so far for live music, and with less than four months left in the year, there’s still so much to anticipate. Kodaline, george and youra, Se So Neon and Benny Sings are some of the artists that Filipino music fans have been waiting for, and Karpos Live is bringing them to our shores. Here’s when and where to see these international acts live.
Kodaline
Irish indie rock band Kodaline first visited Manila in 2018 as headliners of music and arts festival Wanderland. Kodaline, known for their honest lyrics which range from uplifting to heartbreaking, also had their first solo Philippine show in 2019. The quartet will be back for a damn good time at Karpos Live. Ready to feel all the feelings while singing “All I Want” and “High Hopes”? Catch the band’s show on Sept. 14 at the Filinvest Tent.
george and youra
South Korean indie artists george and youra will share the stage for Karpos Live’s first joint show of the year. george first wowed the Filipino crowd at Wanderland 2023, and he will be returning with new songs from his album “FRR,” released in April. Singer-songwriter youra, one of K-indie music’s most promising acts, will make her Philippine stage debut. Mark your calendars! george and youra will perform at the Filinvest Tent on Oct. 17 for the Manila leg of their Asian tour.
Se So Neon
Another indie act finally coming to Manila is South Korean alt-rock band Se So Neon. Their 2020 EP “Nonadaptation 비적응” was included in Pitchfork’s and Paste Magazine’s best rock album of the year lists. The duo (vocalist Soyoon and bassist Hyun-jin) also recently released their single “Kidd.” Experience the sound that is distinctly Se So Neon on Nov. 18 at the Filinvest Tent.
Benny Sings
Dutch singer-songwriter Benny Sings is set to perform in the Philippines for the first time. Marking his two decades in the music scene, this artist also released his latest album “Young Hearts” early this year. Prepare for a night with Benny Sings and his music: a fusion of alt-pop, R&B and a bit of hip hop and jazz. He will be performing at the Filinvest Tent on Nov. 28.
