Dreamcatcher returns for Manila show this August

Dreamcatcher, the face of rock in K-pop, is comprised of 7 members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Dami and Gahyeon. Fondly called by their fandom InSomnia as Deukae, they fuse mysterious horror and fantasy themes with slick dance- pop, rock, and metal. They rose quickly into the K-pop mainstream with a series of EPs in 2017 and 2018 mainly focusing on 7 nightmares/fears represented by each member.


After the success of the Nightmare series, they embarked on a new chapter with the Apocalypse series starting with their second full album, “Apocalypse: Save Us”. The album boasts 14 songs including solos from each member.

The title track “Maison” is an electrifying synth-rock sending out the strong message of saving the environment. This got them their first music show win in their career, and a second one too!

“Apocalypse: Follow Us” with its title track “Vision” was the second installment in the series. The dark and edgy electronic rock song expressed Dreamcatcher’s vision of the apocalyptic future if we continue to fail to care for the environment.


The culmination of the Apocalypse series comes with their recent release, their 8th mini-album, “Apocalyse:From Us” with its J-rock-sounding title track “Bon Voyage” and truly what an awesome way to bid farewell to the Apocalypse series than with “Bon Voyage” getting them their 3rd and 4th music show wins.

iKON back in Manila for 2023 Take Off World Tour

Brace for impact as iKON lands back in the Philippines to bring their massive world tour, 2023 iKON WORLD TOUR TAKE OFF IN MANILA this August at the Araneta Coliseum!

APO Hiking Society kicks-off 50th anniversary celebration with concert

The Apo Hiking Society, proponents of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), kick-off their year-long 50th anniversary celebration with a concert entitled “Apo Hiking Society 50 Years, The Concert.” The awe-inspiring show will be held on July 15 and 16, 2023 (Saturday and Sunday) at state-of-the-art Hyundai Hall proscenium theater of Areté in Ateneo de Manila University.

The concert is a homecoming as the APO trace their roots to the Ateneo de Manila where the musical group was formed and initially performed at school events. Upon the members’ graduation from college, all of them were set to pursue different paths. But three of them– Jim Paredes, Danny Javier and Boboy Garrovillo– persisted and Philippine music has become more vibrant because of their choice.

In an interview, Boboy said that 1973 was the year their school-based group was supposed to break up. “Fifty years ago, we were going to say goodbye to our friends through a concert.”

Jim revealed in a post on social media that 1973 was not the end but the start. “We actually started even earlier. But we decided to count our years from 1973 when we as a very little known group held a farewell concert…Boboy was going into farming. I was leaving for Turkey for an AISEC job and wander around the world after. Lito de Joya, the 4th APO was going to take over the family business. Danny had gotten a job in a network.”

Jim also said that despite an ongoing typhoon, people flocked to the venue (Meralco Theater) and gave them standing ovations. “Showbiz beckoned,” said Boboy, “and it infused our personal and professional lives as artists.”

The career of the APO has spanned recording, television, concerts and film. They have produced 27 albums and have become instrumental in inspiring the next generation of Filipino singers and bands. APO as a trio retired in 2010 but continued to be active in the entertainment scene individually.

Danny passed away in October 2022, two months before Jim and Boboy sang before an SRO crowd at 19 East which signaled another chapter in the APO’s continuing musical journey. As Boboy reiterated, “There is a new beginning after 50. Life begins at 50.”

For “APO Hiking Society 50 years,” Jim said that he and Boboy promise “surprise and delight and originality with musical memories, spiels, show stopping numbers and new cool stuff.”

Joining them on stage for the two night-concert are Hangad, the Company of Ateneo Dancers (CAD) and special guests. The July 15 concert is co-presented by Maryknoll College Batch ’74, for the benefit of the Miriam College Endowment Fund Scholarship Program and the “May Puno! May Buhay!” tree-planting project.

Successful fanmeet for Win Metawin’s Manila return

One of the most beloved Thai actors in the world, Win Metawin, visited the Philippines for his solo fanmeet last June 11, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater.

In 2020, he became popular with Bright Vachirawit in his debut BL drama “2gether The Series”. He captipated women all over the world with his refreshing and cute bunny face.

WIN SANG HIS LATEST SINGLE – ONE MORE CHANCE

Win never fails his fans with the romantic excitement during his song number. Win said the he was glad to be back in the Philippines again. He also said that he missed his filo fans so much.

WIN’s SELF COOKING

Win prepared three sandwiches for the fans. He mentioned that he did not know how to cook but still he will prepare 3 sandwiches for the fans to take home it (We didn’t know if the filo fans will eat or put it in acrylic frame lol)

He fondly named the sandwiches: My Love, Babe Vegan and My Girlfriend.

WIN’s MEMORABLE ACTING MOMENT

Win said that 2gether The Series was the most memorable acting project. He mentioned that because it his first series of his life. He got the chance to meet the filo fans.

Win also asked, if he was given the chance to have a Philippine project, he wanted to work with Anne Curtis whom he met in New York and she said that Anne was so nice.

WIN METAWIN’s CAREER

Win Metawin is so much thankful that he was included in Forbes’s 30 Under 30 Asia List of the 300 Young Entrepreneurs. It is so much hono. At first when I saw that on Twitter, I thought it was fake. So much thankful, he said. The Forbes list also includes K-Pop girl group NewJeans, Korean actresses Lee Yoo-Mi of All of Us Dead and Kim Hye-Yoon of Snowdrop. Win also wanted to try a role of psycho and he said “pretty challenging for me if I had the chance to do that

His memorable thing that fans did to him was when they visit them personally his graduation in Thailand.

ADVICE AND MESSAGE TO FILO FANS

Win said to Filo fans to be grateful and appreciate the present moments – sometimes we work a lot we prepare the future but we forgot to appreciate the present moments.

In his last message, He said, I love you guys, I am always happy to be back here. Thank you for coming tonight. Thank you for having a good time with me. I hope one day, I’ll have the chance to come back again.
